Boho Dress & Boots

{click to enlarge}

As promised, the boobtacular dress I was going to wear to Thanksgiving dinner but decided against it. I just love it though and it's so comfortable.

Dress: Bebe
Boots: bcbg
Accessories: all vintage {grandma's} + a vintage leaf pin
Hair Bow: vintage ...mine from the 80's

On daily outfit posts:
Even though more of the votes were FOR daily outfit posts, my trial week proved a bit challenging and seemed focused all of my attention on what I was wearing over where my mind was at. And since this is my domain, I would like to continue expressing myself at least two or three days a week in posts having nothing to do with fashion at all.

That said, I will most likely do two to three daily outfit posts then a weekend dress up post {like today}. I am thinking of calling it either "Playing Dress up" or "I would wear this if . . ." then you could get creative in your comments about where a person would wear such an outfit. I think it would be fun and possibly funny to see what you all come up with!

{btw ...this is what happens when you're in your 30's and you don't have kids yet ...Happy Saturday!}

Paul Fusco ~ RFK~

While at work in early spring 2008 I was researching art online and I came across Danziger Projects where I fell in love with photographer Paul Fusco's work. Most notably, the RFK series.

I got so excited that without reading his bio or doing any other research on the artist, I posted this about the photo below {which is my favorite}.

Going back to www.danzigerprojects.com to view more artists, I found the word BLOG and immediately clicked for more. I had entered The Year In Pictures, a world of art which I was {and still am} not totally familiar with, photography, and have returned every day since {where I quite positively have left some ridiculously stupid comments} lol.

Then one afternoon I logged on to find that I was featured on The Year in Pictures here and then again HERE in a post titled "Cute" for my Tinkerbell Halloween costume.

And because I was so "Cute" I was rewarded this fantastic book as a prize!

Not only the BOOK, but signed and inscribed by Paul Fusco himself {quoting a comment I made about being IN LOVE with his works!!!}

I just adore this series of photographs and would love to hang a couple in my future house. They really have a way of capturing the mood of the time and although sad, I want to be there, watching and waving as the train passed by.

Thank you James Danziger and Mr. Paul Fusco. I am so honored to own this book and hopefully someday a couple of actual prints to hang on my wall.

Happy Thanksgiving 2008!
{photo overload}

{click to enlarge}

{I look totally bitchy and a little thick ...I'll blame the jeans though and the camera angle because I didn't feel thick & that's all that matters}

I didn't end up wearing the dress ...but I may model it for you anyway tomorrow since I don't have to go to work ...idunno. I wore this instead ...and yes you've seen it before here. Kind of boring but very comfortable and hides any possible full tummy turkey bloat ;) I added my new Marc by Marc Jacobs necklace that I got on gilt.com and some bangles {Forever 21} which I wouldn't normally wear to work because they BANG on my desk when I type. I also switched my bag today and brought out the old Louis Vuitton Speedy {Medium} but I'm 5'7" and it looks tiny there. I had a camel color cardigan for later. It was fairly warm today in LA.

Jeans: Calvin Klein
V-neck: Husband's DKNY
Shoes: Boutique 58
Belt: Vintage
Bag: Louis Vuitton
Sunglasses: Tom Ford
Bangles: Forever 21
Necklace: Marc by Marc Jacobs
Gold hoops from Hot Hoops on Etsy

Our Thanksgiving

This is what NO traffic looks like in LA
...it was a beautiful day

This may look bad but it was harmless, I assure you

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

My First Turkey

I cooked Thanksgiving dinner for the first time in 2005 and fed about 30 people at my father-in-law's house. I did have a few little helpers though; that's my mom in the background stirring stuffing and Shanon helped quite a bit as well. It was a casual event, as you can see.

I had just pulled the turkey out of the oven and was photographing it {because it was my 1st!} when my husband walked into the kitchen. Those sweet turkey smells must have found a direct pathway to his nostrils forcing him to stop playing Guitar Hero and find the source of goodness and wonder. I'm not sure he was aware I was even standing there let alone capturing his reaction to that turkey ...and I'm glad because this is one of my all-time favorite photos.

Tomorrow we are having Thanksgiving at my FIL's again but alas, I am not cooking. The lovely Shanon is but I will be making delicious oatmeal cookies and peanut butter cups tonight and we're bringing hors d'œuvres. The same 30 people will most likely be there tomorrow as in 2005 but possibly a little less casual. It's going to be a fun day!

I will save all my "Happy Thanksgiving" wishes until tomorrow when hopefully I will get ready in time to give you yet another completely gratuitous outfit post. {I know, I know, you all can barely handle to suspense ;0)} ...but my dress is quite boobacious, boobtastic, if you will, so it might be a little much for a family gathering. Then again, you don't know my family. ;) wink

Completely Gratuitous {every day}

Sweater: Forever 21
Skirt: Forever 21
Boots: Steve Madden ...seen here
Tights: old
Sunglasses: fake Diors ...seen well, all over
Necklace: vintage, grandma's ...seen here
Earrings: crystal cheapies
Hair: wet, twisted and tied

I'm going to have to change the titles because Completely Gratuitous every day is boring me :) In other news: I get to leave at 1pm today. Yay!

The Big Penis Book

Taschen, an art book publisher, has recently released The Big Penis Book after the "bust out success" of The Big Book of Breasts.

In The Big Penis Book we explore the centuries-old fascination with the large phallus, a fascination common to men and women alike. This hefty book is profusely illustrated with over 400 historic photos of spectacular male endowments, including rare photos of the legendary John Holmes. The majority of the photographs are from the 1970s, when the sexual revolution first freed photographers to depict the male entirely nude. Photographers include Bob Mizer of Athletic Model Guild, David Hurles of Old Reliable, Colt, Falcon, Sierra Domino, Third World, and Champion Studios, with each of these iconic photographers interviewed or profiled, along with information about each of their models. And if this isn’t enough, the book closes with a special surprise comparable to the Guinness Book of Records’ Norma Stitz featured in The Big Book of Breasts! Can you guess what body part Dian is dissecting next?

Um, the fingernail? Probably not, but if you're interested in seeing very graphic and very large phallus' then click here.

{not suitable for work, unless you work in an art gallery, lol}
