Dark Root Trend

Reasons why I'm not rushing to the salon . . .

via: Celebrity Clothing Line

I'm liking the idea of just getting a few blonde streaks painted on the front {like Gisele's} and then maybe a couple more throughout. ...like this maybe.

via: Garance Dore

... but, this is really pretty too!

via: I am Style-ish

...but I'm liking the less polished look ...an "I didn't just go to my stylist" look.

I'm actually really liking THIS! {but my husband may kill me if I cut all my hair off}

...even though when he met me, my hair looked like THIS {c., 2003}

which is kind of making me laugh now but I loved the pink

. . .and I'm loving THIS

via: Coco + Kelley

so I could go a bit blonder and shorter like THIS {c., 2007}

...I'm also really liking the length and style {not color} of THIS.

But, I'll most likely just do THIS

via: here

...because then I don't actually have to make a decision at all. {September 2008, and the last time I had my hair done ...lol}

Wish roots were in style when I was a blonde!

I love the last picture of your hair the most... :)

Lol! "everybody's doing it"....or NOT doing it in this case?

You're so insanely beautiful!

I love the hair style of the girl in her underwear - just gorgeous!

I think the short/wavy would look great & so would that mid length too. You can pull off any look!

& thank goodness for fashion trends that mean you can skip a hair appointment or two!

I think you should get yours like the girl in the grey underclothes. That's a great color.

I can't believe cameron went to the GGs with her hair like that, her dress was nice though.

your hair looks ridiculously fabulous in the last pic. as would it as any of the other styles, but there's just something about beautiful long, blonde hair. (i sound like my husband)

love your blog.

Circa 2007, you look so cute!
I love your hair.
And I think the whole dark roots look is actually cuter than being 100% blonde!

Ok - here is my two cents...I like the circa 2007 hair. BUT I know you have been thinking of something to do different - and I LOVE the color in the pic with the girl in the blue jumpsuit OR the Kim Basinger hair color and STYLE! YES!

wow you look amazing with short hair too, but I love your long hair so much and I am trying to grow mine out again, which is similar to the length of your 4th photo from the bottom. I miss my hair below my boobs:)
So I am in the same boat, my roots are at least an 1 1/2 inches grown out and I was debating until spring to so a semi permanent hair color for 1. to save my damaged hair and 2. to save money. it fades anyway after six weeks.. hmmm/

What ever you decide you will look amazing!!!

If only we could find pictures of women letting their gray roots show, then we'd be talking and I wouldn't have to go every 3 weeks....

I think you will look hot no matter what color/style you choose. My favorites are Gisele, the VS model and of course, the gorgeous blond in Paris!

I think you're so beautiful that you'll look great what ever you choose...
I love the picture when your husband met you, so cute :)

You have a great hair! don't change it:)

your hair is so versatile that you could really do anything to it! I also think that people not coloring their hair so often now is not only fashionable but also illustrative of our suffering economy. I mean, I'm sure Cameron Diaz has no problem paying for her root touch-up but a lot of other girls just can't afford it right now. So, it looks hot and current and it's cheaper! home run!!

In the meantime, your hair looks fabulous whatever you do to it!! :) (lucky bird!)

btw, how much do we love Whitney? she's so pretty and so sweet. There is something about her, maybe how down to earth she is, that makes me know she's going to make it here. I was happy to see the shout-out last week when they had breakfast at my diner, the Lyric...it's just a random little diner on 3rd Avenue. Nothing special at all!

I love the pic with the girl and the car!
It`s a hard decision what to do with your hair, I have the same problem every time I have a date with the hair dressser...

yiqin; said...

I get what you mean. It is the reason I am so lazy to dye my hair. The roots are really :/ Btw, cam diaz has been looking so weird lately!

bridechic said...

I solved the whole blonde problem with a bunch of wigs. So many are such great imposters these days too and yes a few even come with 'roots'

mermaid said...

i'd love to see you play with this trend! i think you could really pull it off... and as for length, i like it long!

AndreaLeigh said...

i like the giselle pic of the dark roots. whitney's hair just looks dirty, and cameron looks unkept. i think this look can look a little grunge and unwashed if you aren't careful.

i love, love, love you as a bright blonde! wow, your features just pop and look so glowy in that shade.

just have fun, you look great.

Your hair is beautiful! I liked pink!! My hair needs something, ANYTHING done to it..but I have to wait until after May!

Jill said...

love your site. can you teach me how to do handstands? :)

TheGlamorousEccentric said...

I think dark roots give a really cool undone quality to hair that you can get with perfect color.

Classy in Philadelphia said...

Ah, I adore your short hair with the pink streaks. I love when girls can pull of the pink without looking like complete freaks! You look adorable.

Underfunded Heiress said...

I love that dark roots are in. Yay! Carrie in Sex in the City was always sporting the dark roots but now that it's ended....

I always have this problem being naturally dark haired. I love being blond (ish) but its such an up keep.

You look great no matter if you have roots or not!

drollgirl said...

you can do anything and look super hot!!! like the song by the tubes: SHE'S A BEAUTY! ONE IN A MILLION GIRL!!! that is you, for sure!

Girl Japan said...

I have to honestly say I am not a huge fan of dark roots because I think you look fabulous either way but I bet with you au natural hair color... you'd look like a movie star!

Chris said...

To me, it seems like you don't have to do anything and it still looks incredible. I think you have the best hair of any blogger I know! Isn't there an award for that somewhere? :)

Maki said...

Whatever you decide, you'll look fab in it - although I like the idea of dark roots or the color in the last photo:)

Big Red said...

Totally digging the dark roots, but the light blonde does look pretty awesome. Hmmmm... I think no matter which way you go, it'll look great.

Thanks for following! I feel so cool now. :)

Penny said...

Awesome,so I don't have to get my roots done either, cause my hair is totally channeling Whitney's right now.

Nil said...

You look amazingly beautiful in every hair style but the short hair is my favorite. Breath taking that's what it is :)

Rachel said...

I had darker roots (my natural is a dirty blond) and then they grew and grew...so I am more of the Cameron Diaz look now but shorter...but I want something different but I am like you; can't decide LOL

Haven and Home said...

Love your hair, don't cut it, it is beautiful! My bank account will be very appreciative that I can skip the salon!

brooklynfluff said...

Ooh I do love the grown out roots trend, particularly on Cameron diaz, its almost like ombre hair! I say go for it.

Nicole Marie said...

yeah my favorite is the way it is now!

Your hair is seriously gorgeous and of much admiration from me. Perfect waves and the color is lovely :) Keep it!

I think you could go any of those ways and be fine, as you're blessed with nice hair. Just don't pull a Suzanne Sommers and start selling Thighmasters, OK?

Diabolina Da Fashionista said...

LOOOOVE the pink. Adorable. I never realized before but you def have some Kim Basinger going. When she was smokin ;)

You are so beautiful. I stumbled on your blog some time ago and I check in to see what you're up to and to be inspired by your beauty. you have excellent taste in everything I see from home decor to fashion. As far as the hair. I like the girl and the car, and your hair c. 2007. Maybe not all the time, but the super blonde sort of takes your breath away. Anyway... take care.
