Gun Art

While I do NOT love the idea of keeping a gun in the house {which as far as my husband is concerned is a necessity} or pro-violence, or pro-gun in any way {although I have shot guns in a safe environment and must admit it was rather fun} I happen to love gun art. And here are a few of my faves.

Laurie Simmons "Walking Gun" 1999 Silver Print

Travis P "Peace 47" {print} ~ here

Wexford Girl "Music Gun" {painting} ~ here

Wexfordgirl "El Diablo" {painting} ~ her blog

Steez "Love" {poster} ~ here

Roy Lichtenstein "Crak" 1964 {litho}

Letterpress Heart Revolver on Etsy ~ here

Dave White "Bang Bang!" 2008 ~ here ...very Lichtenstein

Andy Warhol "Gun" 1981 ~ here

{and actually in love with this fake Warhol stretched canvas}

Philippe Starck "Gun Lamp" 2005 ~ hive here too

Christian Fossati "Girl With A Gun 1" {photo} ~ here

Gun Hair Dryer here ...but I would prefer this image as a large print.

Gun is fancy when you look at it in these fun art forms --- I don't own one, though and never held it in my hands before....

But cool post!

I love the gun art.
I see a lot of people in Brooklyn wearing gun necklaces. I hate guns so I don't think I could ever wear one but I think as art pieces, it makes a statement.

Oooh yes! I'm rather anti-gun (even though I live in Australia, so it's not much of an issue here), but I must admit, they ARE aesthetically pleasing! Especially older style revolvers.
I love that Letterpress Heart revolver best!
I recently saw a pic of high heels with guns for heels, but for the life of me I can't remember where!

This is a great gathering of photos. Fascinating. Art and guns...how controversial is that? haha

No - guns are wrong just like violence is wrong. I hope Obama bans your hand guns.

American gun culture has crossed the Ontario border in the last 25 years. It's wrecking our youth.

Glamourizing guns or trivializing guns is a stupid idea.
