Completely Gratuitous Outfit Post

{small photos via iMac photo booth - click to enlarge}
gallery shots, too dark / iphoto shots, too blown out ...grrr.

What I'm Wearing
Skirt: Farmer's Market ...seen here
T-shirt: Target {old}
Cardigan: Express, Vintage {so soft} ...seen somewhere here
Belt: Forever 21 ...seen here
Necklace: Marc by Marc Jacobs from gilt.com ...seen here
Earrings: small gold hoops with diamonds
Sunglasses: Tom Ford
Heels: BCBG {old}
Bag: Louis Vuitton ...with a sad water stain ...boo :( hoo.

*Speaking of sad stains {what is going on?}, my purple uni-ball pen slipped out of my hand ...in slow motion ...and rolled off the edge of my desk and onto my skirt just now, leaving two very light but definitely purple lines on the top of my skirt. Infuriating ...because as far as I know, there is no way to remove pen from white cotton.

ooh you so can get the ink out (apparently), ages ago i saw this product that you can buy to remove ink from clothing. at the time i thought thats cool but i have nothing with ink stains but thought i'd bear it in mind if ever i do need it (i'm clumsy!).

It was in the detergent aisle of the supermarket altho I am talking about uk supermarket. But i am certain you'd be able to find a simlar product over your side of the pond. keep an eye out!

love your blog BTW, only just recently started reading it, I love outfit posts!

Maegan, I love your blog and your outfits. You're an inspiration to dress up more and do more with my outfits.
To remove ink stains, I use alcohol (regular rubbing alcohol). The best way is to soak a cotton ball with alcohol (the ones used for makeup removal) and gently rub it over the fabric (make sure you put a white paper towel underneat so the ink does not pass through). It should work.

SO cute, as usual. To remove stains I usually go shopping and buy a new skirt. Just sayin.

freeTEYme said...

you look so cute in that outfit! For the ink stain, try soaking it in alcohol or in lemon. Either one should work.

Try a little bit of finger nail polish and a stain stick of some sort. My son got a Sharpie mark on his BRAND NEW coat this winter and I spazzed. My mom had this cleaner from the Dollar General Store called "Awesome" (it's yellow and in a clear jug) and we dabbed it, plus nail polish remover, and water on it and scrubbed. It came out completely!

Oh you guys are awesome! I'm totally trying the rubbing alcohol when I get home.

ROCK!!!

...love Maegan said...

....and any other suggestions if that doesn't work.

Holly said...

frickin adorable!!!!!!!!! fresh and springy, i love it!

Either alcohol (the rubbing kind, not the drinking kind) or cheap hairspray will take it out. Put a towel underneath the stain and dab the alcohol, or spray the spray and keep "dabbing". The ink will spread at first...don't freak...it will all eventually come out.

Kellie said...

Love the outfit! So cute! As for ink, I have no idea. Let us know if the rubbing alcohol works!

Wow, I love your legs. And you're so gorgeous in the last picture.

Try hydrogen peroxide. This is going to sound so gross, but I'm an ER nurse, and I've used it to get some serious *shit* out of my scrubs, so I bet it would work on ink too. Just make sure you put a towel directly underneath the stain so it doesn't bleed to the other side.

p.s. I ordered a pair of Tom Ford sunglasses from ebay, got a great deal! Fiance says I look like a bumble bee in them....so not funny.

Fashion wise, there isn't much you can't pull off and make look good.

OH NOOO about the stain, how annoying!

Great outfit!

For any stain I always use this little bottle of stain remover that is from Dryel. It comes in their dry cleaning kit and it works magic. I know they have it like at Wal Mart, but not sure where else.

K.Line said...

Alcohol may well work on the pen stain. And you look so spring time fabulous in this outfit. So country club lady!
