What I'm Wearing
Dress: BCBG MAXAZRIA
Black Blazer: Vintage Bill Kaiserman
Heels: Guess
Sunnies: Chanel
Earrings: Aldo . . . {sunnies/heels/blazer/earrings&bag ...seen here
Handbag: Marc by Marc Jacobs
*C Wanted to Know what the hubby thought {and I'm thinkin' I should include this in every outfit post maybe?} ...As I walked into the office to kiss him goodbye he said "You look pretty" ...so I'm guessing he liked it. {also note that legs and cleavage are showing which always wins in his book ...lol}

I bought this dress in Vegas @ BCBG in 2006 and I loved it ...and it's been hanging in my closet ever since. Today is the first day it's seen the light of day and really it's only because it never looked quite right on.
Originally, I thought I'd wear it with light shoes and a light sweater but it always came across as too sweet {and kind of frumpy}. A couple weeks ago I was craving a 90's feel; maybe a floral dress with a cropped leather jacket and this dress came to mind ...but it still didn't seem right in my head.
Last week @ thecoveted.net, Jennine posted a little diddy called "This Old Rag" where she wrote about items in her closet she never wore but couldn't part with then asked us to show her what we don't wear in our closet. The day after I read that post, I found that vintage dress on the back of my closet door that I never wear but just couldn't get rid of and wore it last week ...and now this. So, thanks Jennine ...for inspiring :)

You look fabulous! I love it!
Those shoes are to die for. Seriously.
It's all cute, but I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the shoes!
such a sweet outfit - but the blazer made it edgy. I really like those shoes!
Those shoes are beyond fierce. And they TOTALLY balance the dress. Love!
You look like a model!!
I love your dress :)
good job on pulling this outfit together. its tres chic!
WOW! i can't believe you've had that dress for 3 years, and this is the first time you're wearing it! i totally understand though and have done the same thing myself. very cute outfit! i'm glad you found a way to put that dress to use.
Great outfit & the last picture of you is just pure & utter fabulous-ness! ha! ;)
Fantastic dress, darling! Love how you paired it with a blazer for the office. You look stunning!

P.S. I kinda hate quilted bags too but I needed a "Q" for my Spring abcs!
this is such a great look on you!
I'm wearing a Kenneth Cole jacket very similar to yours right now! I like the motorcycle jacket without the leather. It's more versatile.
so stylish! and i'm a sucker for anything BCBG MAXAZRIA
I would have never been to come up with that dress and those shoes...BUT I LOVE IT! So cute!
I think it's fab.
What's hubby think?

Love it. Can't wait to read Jennine's post...
I think the dress looks fab! And those shoes are awesome. It all looks great together!
I can see how it could be "too sweet" with light shoes/accessories. I never would have paired it with the black, but I love it! You look great!
you look great... it a shame that that dress only saw the closet :( lol
the hubby insight seems like an interesting idea

oh i love the detailing on that dress!! i thought the shoes were a great choice for that outfit. love the contrast between light/dark.
love love love those shoes!!!!
wish that I had your legs! Love the dress
I like what you've done with that! I usually avoid things like that because they look too soft and sweet.
I saw a top on sale (bargain) yesterday with a similar look yesterday and didn't buy it because it seemed too "innocent"...perhaps I might go back and look at it now.
Thanks for the inspiration!
What a great, great outfit!
gorgeous outfit for the spring xo
Black is always a great anitdote to so many iffy clothes...too bright, too flouncy, too flowery - it fixes all. Looks great on you, glad you got the chance to wear it - I try and do this too but not as often as I like as it does take some planning ahead!
I LOVE this outfit. I love that it is precious but also urban and so chic. The blazer and those hot shoes with those pretty flowers. amazing. You've just inspired ME:) this is not unusual. I have so many thinkgs hanging in my closet right now that I never wear but cannot get rid of...now I don't have to!
LOVE LOVE those shoes !!! This is my favorite outfit so far. You look unavoidable and gorgeous.
Love the dress. And the shoes are so awesome.Love it.;D
I love how the black jacket and shoes contrast the softness of the dress. Simply gorgeous!
The dress is wonderful!
Love,love,love your pics..soooo hot..;D
I simply love the dress. I wish I had your hair- it's beautiful. aaaah, I love all of your outfits!!!
love, dayna
Oh, so glad you pulled that dress out. I think it is truly love. Big fan of the pleats coming up to create such a high waist. And your shoes, as always, are fabulous!
I love it when I rediscover something I've never / hardly ever worn and suddenly it's perfect! The dress is terrific!
x
A fitted blazer over a pretty dress is perhaps one of my favorite looks ever - gorgeous!
I love this combo.
So cute!! Like a new outfit you didn't have to buy.. LOL
Ooooh...I love that dress Sis!
pretty dress
The blazer and black shoes bring the right amount of sharpness to balance the sweet and keep it from becoming too saccharine. Love.
That dress is absolutely stunning! and you styled it beautifully!
