YSL Caged Metallic Sandals DIY

ysl-caged-silver-shoe-seaofshoesjane

{Above image from Jane @ Sea of Shoes below is my DIY}

ysl-cage-metallic-sandal-diy-1

Inspired by the YSL Cage Sandal in silver metallic leather {which are now on sale for $799}, and seen on Sea of Shoes, I decided to just make my own. Now, this would probably have been easier had I just used 1/8" ribbon and glue to make the grid but I didn't want it to look costume-y. And in the meantime, I also made a caged cuff and choker and I'm honestly thinking about making a belt but that would take forever.

What you'll need . . .

cage-metallic-ysl-heel-diy-0
Leather {I used an old leather skirt I don't like}, ruler, razor, 3/8" black ribbon for ankle {YSL's are velvet, I used satin}, 1/8" ribbon to tie on front {matching color - I spray painted mine but it kind of rubbed off}, silver heels & silver spray paint {if you have black heels, you can skip the spray paint}.

. . . caged lace up cuff

...lace a ribbon through the edges and create a cuff and with two: a choker

. . .finishing the shoes

*skip if doing black on black

Voila!

*or double ribbon and tie on the side like this

...love.

carlyjcais said...

Awesome! Now if you could only figure out how to make the basket-heel...you could definitely layer that silver-painted leather over a chunky-heeled shoe (where the chunk heel was clear/see thru)...but making it into a real cage might be a toughie.
Creative thoughts from my muse?:-)
Thanks for the DIY - definitely check out the DIY's on my blog below!

best android apps said...

The beauty of Android Apps is the fact that the Android operating system is open source. Google were very astute here, allowing the creativity of bedroom developers to shine through, and although Android Apps have some way to go before they reach the 280,000 plus apps for Apple, there are plenty to choose from. So the simple question is, what are the Top 10 Android Apps you must have?

Linda P. said...

The heel kinda reminds me of a shopping cart. hehe. But i think its very creative. Nice work.

In recent months, the majority of developers began to offer their mobile apps on Android smartphones. Most companies now recognize that the Android user base is growing and that future releases should be compatible with these types of devices.

There has been no proof yet that synthetic vitamins can harm people although there are preservatives added to it. In comparing synthetic to natural vitamin supplements, natural or also called 'organic' are better than the other.
