What I'm Wearing
* Vintage Ralph Lauren plaid button down shirt with black tank under...seen here
* DL1961 Premium Denim gray jeans {gilt/fuse.com} ...seen here
* Dolce Vita Gray Flash Bootie...seen here
* Vintage coat ...seen here
* Plaid scarf ...no brand {found at funky local shop called Mainly Seconds}

I'm finally going to see the psychiatrist today and I'm already nervous. I keep trying to stop my mind from creating future scenes and scenarios of how it's going to play out and to just let it happen. Live now. There is only now ...has become my mantra to get my mind to shut up about anything it begins obsessing on from past or future events. It's easy over the weekend where there is no pressure but as soon as I have to go somewhere {the next day} it starts going, going, going. And continues into the morning as if it's trying to freak me out ...and it is.

I'm actually really relieved to finally meet with her and trying to not attach any expectations to it is difficult.

This is such an amazing outfit -- it's classic, and appropriate for like a zillion different things! I love the pop of red from the shirt.

Don't be too nervous about your appointment later either -- the anticipation is always worse than the actuality!! Lots of luck!!

Good Luck Girl...Atleast wear some fabulous shoes to the consult in case the psychiatrist bores you...that way you will have something to stare at if the visit runs amuck...(totally shallow I know...I tend to joke in uncomfortable times kinda like Chandler on Friends:)

Smile. You are beautiful.

Great mix of plaid also....

I have to admit, I miss the shoe pictures taken from the iMac in the gallery, but the new location pictures are really great too.

I just bought a plaid button down last week, so I'm really excited to see you wearing one. I feel validated about my purchase now.

Good luck today!

That became my mantra too....

"Try to live in the present, don't carry around unnecessary burdens from a yesterday you will not live again or a tomorrow that is not guaranteed."

What great full-length shots those are Maegan! Atmospheric and moody (the LA sunshine was on holiday I guess), with poses to match. You seem to have a rough and tousled look to your hair, especially in the first shot, which my favourite, but it's really adding to the mood I think. You look beautiful, and full of allure. I see you've turned up your jeans a little, presumably to help show off the chain décor on those fancy boots of yours. I'm all in favour of that, and I expect it also allows them to clank properly as you walk along eh? You wouldn't want to mute them I'm sure! I like the plaid scarf too, a good match with the jeans. Oh, and good luck with the psychiatrist; I do hope it helps.

Good like with the psychiatrist. My friend had anxiety issues and finally after three years of begging I got him to go to a shrink...was the best thing he ever did. Hope it works out for you.

You are RIDICULOUSLY beautiful and I want those boots.

It sounds like you are going into the appointment with a really good mindset... Hoping to get what you need without expecting it to happen *right.this.instant.*

Good luck today. You look fabulous.

a therapist friend who knows I like ze computers told me when I'm going crazy freaking myself out with my busy brain to picture everything in my head like a desktop covered in files (files being the thoughts in my head), and then drag everything to the recycling bin. It sounds silly but it kinda works for me and calms me down.

loving this look. i could see myself in this exact outfit. :)

hope your appointment went well.

I think partially due to really positive experiences with psychiatrists, I love going to the doctor. You should just try to see it as an exciting opportunity to talk about what's bothering you with someone who won't be freaked out by what you're saying. I dunno, anxiety is a bitch, because it really is the fear of it that creates the whole problem. Just remember that somethings going to give--your body can't maintain that level of stress for very long. You'll come through the other side, I promise.

I hope your appointment went well. I think it is very smart to take a pro-active stance on what is going on in your head/life and incredibly brave to let the whole world know about it. You are not alone. Sorry to sound cliche, but I wish I had known that I wasn't alone about 2 years ago when I went through some debilitating anxiety and depression.

I am sending you some good, happy, chill juju to help you feel better. :)

xoxo & merry kwanzaa!

PS - love this outfit EVERYDAY!!!

I have been reading for quite awhile but I just have to say that this outfit is by far my favorite that I have seen! I absolutely love the shirt, the jeans and especially the coat. I have almost the exact same scarf that I found at a thrift store and I love the inspiration you have given me to wear it in a new way.

I hope you find comfort in speaking with someone about your struggles. I wish you the best!

I hope it went well today, Maegan. And that things only get better from here.

I'd say I'd pray for you but I don't believe in god. But what I do believe in is you, and I know whatever it is that you're going through, you'll beat it. Promise.

OMG, you have the "dread" complex; I had that for YEARS. I finally broke the habit by downsizing and only doing things I really wanted to do, including my job. I've stopped worrying about what other people think of me, because I like ME just fine. Honey, my heart really goes out to you on this one, it's hard to stop "thinking, thinking, thinking".
Just for a laugh, my word ver. - twarpat. I don't know why it sounds like another nickname for va-jay-jay.

I've bee n obsessively stalking your blog for a while now. I absolutely love your outfit posts and DIY's.
Today I found a DIY idea that I think you would like... and I just had to share:

Isabel Marant's chain boots retail for $1445 and Jeffrey Campbell has a similar set for $146.

I think you could definitely pull a DIY of these boots off!

Here is a link to the Campbells: http://www.karmaloop.com/products.aspx?ProductID=86725&VendorCode=JEF&utm_source=google&utm_medium=comparisonshopping&utm_campaign=datafeed&CAWELAID=439789830

p.s. Thanks for being so honest on your blog (in regard to your post last week)... I truly appreciate it.
