...As I was packing my things up to leave work, I realized that not my first but my SECOND empty bag of king size peanut m&m's missed the trash can by a foot.. ...it's been there for uh {excuse me while I check when I twittered it} ...at least 25 minutes ...just lying on the floor.
Yes, this is what I ate today {most days} between the hours of 9am and 3pm. Sad but true. {su-gar-high}

I am so sleepy today. Something about having to go to work makes my eye twitch ...non.stop. . I want to stab it with my stiletto. . happy Tuesday.
In our quest to find an idyllic yet affordable place to live in Los Angeles, which in itself is an oxymoron, husband and I have been pondering Pasadena for the last couple of weeks and decided to take a drive there Sunday afternoon.
After a quick stop in Toluca Lake, walking through a tiny, 2 + 2 open house for $779K, {idyllic but far from affordable} we headed west back to Studio City and got on the 101 Freeway at Laurel Canyon {to the 134, etc.} towards Pasadena.
what our drive looked like ...although we did not film this
While there was no traffic, what felt like a rather long drive had only in fact been 9 minutes as far as the clock was concerned and we were only about two minutes from our final destination {we exited Colorado Blvd.}. { . . .in other words, the drive to Century City three days a week to the art gallery may not be as bad as I imagined}
Of the ten or so times that I have been to Pasadena {and the numerous times driving through it}, what I always remembered and loved was the amazing bridge you pass just before getting off the freeway. That is how I know I'm in Pasadena. While searching for an image of it just now, I found out some creepy information about one of my favorite landmarks. It's actually called The Suicide Bridge {for obvious reasons - but click the link to find out more} ...and while I am drawn to creepy things, I'm not sure how I feel about it.
While driving around we definitely decided that we would look for a house as close to Colorado Boulevard as possible in Old Town. The idea of being able to walk to the various restaurants and boutiques, that small town feel, is what really draws us there. However, it looks like we may only be able to afford North of Colorado Blvd. ...but South is where the neighborhoods look like movie sets. And that's what I'm after.
{a cute short film I found on youtube about Pasadena}
I'm wondering if any of my lovely readers may live in {or once lived in} Pasadena ...and may have some words of wisdom for us. ...Or maybe you just have some opinions {good and bad} I'd love to hear your thoughts.
I don't crate my dogs but wouldn't this be an awesome {small} dog {or cat} bed/home in a small living space? BowHaus ...oh how I want a house to decorate ....jonesing for it.
This is what happens when the husband takes the camera: SMILES.
I cannot seem to control myself from slowly contorting my serious fashion face to a LARGER THAN LIFE SMILE when he's trying to take a photo. Actually, there was a drunk old man standing behind him whilst he was snapping the full outfit shot ...which was annoying to say the least. Whatevs. We had a fun evening ...what am I saying, evening? ... late afternoon at Gyu Kaku ...which is one of our favorite restaurants. And when we go to eat dinner at around 5pm, we're usually the only ones in the entire joint, and that is exactly how I like it.
After our early bird special dinner, we went to Solley's bakery and pretty much grabbed one of everything that had chocolate on it to take home and devour for the rest of the evening. Sugar high at it's finest!
Oh the joys of married life ...sigh* I love it.

This little film seriously brings tears to my eyes. . .I can't help it.
Field Report - Earth hour in Los Angeles
3/29/2009
An hour before EH crowds were gathering at LA Live in front of the stage. The air was electric as people milled about getting ready for show. People were overheard asking in disbelief if the lights in LA were really going to go dark. Then the show started. DJ Tony got the party started as the news crews and throngs people looked on, excitement building with every pulse of the record.
Then around 7:50 various speakers took the stage including Curt Tamkin from WWF and the Mayor of LA. As cheers roared from the crowd the mayor counted down from 10 and the literally thousands of lights that adorn LA Live went out and video of the lights going out around town played over head. Pinks, the observatory, homes in the hollywood hills and buildings right here in downtown. Then there was totally darkness and one by one people lifted their Led candles into the air in total silence, marveling in what was accomplished and the statement we all, together, were making.
A choir sang and then DJ Tony played the hour home. As the crowd dissappeared into the night the smiles on their faces told a story of the night LA joined with the rest of the world in a statement for action on climate change.
How adorable are these little bookmarks? Wouldn't they just make the perfect gift for a book lover? ...or someone who just likes to have really great things? ...Even just an additional little something on top of the gift, and maybe used as part of the gift-wrap. I love it!
{small photos via iMac photo booth - click to enlarge} gallery shots, too dark / iphoto shots, too blown out ...grrr.

*Speaking of sad stains {what is going on?}, my purple uni-ball pen slipped out of my hand ...in slow motion ...and rolled off the edge of my desk and onto my skirt just now, leaving two very light but definitely purple lines on the top of my skirt. Infuriating ...because as far as I know, there is no way to remove pen from white cotton.
I adore this look ... and have worked it in the past ...similarly ...and will work it into the future. love.it. The dad looks rad too.
..now I just have to see if my mom still has my big red skirt or if she gave it to goodwill like she did with those fabulous Charles David's I let her borrow . .. grrr.

*Thank you for all of your wonderful comments and emails in response to my post yesterday. Sometimes there's just so much clutter in my head fixating on one aspect that it's not until I spit it all up on paper that I'm able to have a clear head and a new perspective about it all. Thank you for allowing me a forum to do that and for all of your encouraging words. As far as fertility drugs and treatments ...really, I'm just afraid and don't think I could ever handle it. The disappointment on this level is barely manageable.
Girls and ladies and women of the world, we are a strong and powerful bunch. Unite! :0) {...is it too early to bring that whole Girl Power thing back? ..lol}
