DIY ~ Full Skirt to Bubble Skirt . . .and back again

What you'll need . . .























...if you want it a bit cleaner looking
...add more eyes and ribbons in between



...ribbons are shorter than the length of the skirt so they won't show
...tie ribbons at any length ...adjusting the bubble length





...this project may look harder than it actually is.

Happy Birthday Brother!

I've always been jealous of my brother's gorgeous flaxen blond hair ...and long eyelashes ...and full lips. Asshole.



I think this was 1983 and I was 7 and my little brother was 1 ...or I was 8 and Scott was 2. Either way, I loved him to death then and I love him to death now.


Today, he's 27 and about to be a daddy. Wow. Time. Flies.

Isn't it funny how you can get 50 really great complimentary comments and one that isn't as nice and that's the one that sticks with you? {admittedly, I have left a less than nice comment or two which I regretted moments after hitting publish ~ so for that, I am sorry}

Yesterday I got a comment about my eyebrows and how they would look so much better if they were filled in and really, it was not a mean comment AT ALL ...but more along the lines of constructive criticism. And it's true, I'm absolutely lazy in the mornings and do not fill in my eyebrows. Which is funny because in my early twenties, I WAS OBSESSED with my eyebrows needing to be PERFECT ...{which is why they are so thin and damn it if my mother was right about tweezing too much!}. They're light. I'm blonde. I should fill them in. So I did ...today ..and really, it's not that much of a difference ...And then I think to myself, really Maegan, you're that insecure that one person's opinion about your eyebrows really made you change and actually fill them in this morning? ...and they answer, obviously is YES.

HOWEVER ...I will never EVER fill in my brows to the point where you can see the pencil or shadow along the edges ...I'm sorry but that just looks wrong to me ...and reminds me of . . .

As SOON as I get home I slip my feet into these fabulous FIT FLOPS and I don't take them off until I get in bed. Well, or partake in pleasurable activities with husband. They are so amazing that I am not kidding when I tell you that I would wear these no matter how they looked! ...um ...okay that's a total lie .. . .because if it were true, I would have worn them to work.

Photo Load Time Testing w/ Doggies

Apologies for this interruption but my images have been loading way too slowly for my liking lately so I thought I'd do a little test comparing load times from a flickr direct as opposed to my own ftp direct ~ which is how I normally do it. I'm thinking flickr is going to be faster because the photos are technically already loaded to the internet making them pre-cached ...or so I think. Let's see .. .

I'm guessing this is why people leave blogger and go to other blogging platforms. It's kind of a pain to have to resize the images from flickr but blogger is taking FAR TOO LONG to load my own ftp images. However, I like blogger better than many platforms for numerous reasons.

...working on getting my large images to load faster ...sorry - I hate that! ...also, it seems Explorer has the most problems but I'm always on either Firefox or Safari which seem to run fine. Solution = don't use Explorer :)










What I'm Wearing
* White top/tunic ...Rix Chix Clothing {bought this in 2006 for our wedding/honeymoon ..to wear by the pool ...and really, this look is much better bra-less but I couldn't actually leave the house without a bra, let alone to work}

* Skirt ...Victoria's Secret I just got this {the box arrived Friday afternoon} and I was actually going to return it until I remembered it was on sale for $14.99!!?!?!? I bought it a size bigger so I could wear it lower/close to my hips and belted up at my waist ...accompanied by

this most comfortable little sweatshirt dress and the black patent fit flops both of which I have been wearing since I opened the box Friday afternoon. I loved them both so much that I went back online and ordered this dress in every color and got the white fit flops too. It is THE PERFECT "around the house" outfit for me. I love being barefoot and these fit flops are effing amazing. NOW, I wouldn't say that I've actually gotten a workout from wearing them BUT I think they have definitely strengthened my foot and ankle muscles. And really, they're not actually that horrible looking. They remind me of a pair of converse flip flops I had in or around 1995.

* Hair ...still wet ...twisted and clipped.
* Wedges ...Jimmy Choo ...post where I bought them wearing them for the first time today ...and really, they are so comfortable!
