I’ve been a fan of controversial artist Spencer Tunick since watching a documentary in or around 2001-02 on HBO titled Naked States. And promptly after viewing it, I went online, found and chose my favorite images and printed them on 8×10 photo paper and framed them. They still reside in our downstairs bathroom …and I love them. {the black and white one above and this one} I wonder if his actual c-prints are affordable? I doubt it.

A recent comment from Random Musings of My Life on the Good for Her ~ Jennifer Hawkins post, jogged my memory of his ingenious photographs of hundreds, if not thousands of ordinary people who stripped down to their birthday suits and weathered the elements {often illegally} in order for Tunick to realize his artistic vision.

I love that his images sort of remove all sexuality of the naked body and seem to merge humanity into one equal being often becoming part of the landscape.

His latest documentary Naked World, a one-year trek to all seven continents to take photographs of naked people, individually and in groups is available now …and I think I may just have to.

I love everything you post…but this I can’t get. Seems weird and gross, but not sexually gross like gross for sanitary reasons.

One thing I wonder is, how did those people stand to be sooooo close to strangers’ naked bodies. There’s no way I’d lie that close to some random people’s butts, lol!

Ok, something about these is actually quite creepy. Probably because in these numbers, you don’t necessarily think “people” as you think “bodies” which makes me think of dead people. Ok I’m going to watch a Disney cartoon now to lighten the mood.

These shots are kind of amazing! I wonder if it would be more comforting to be publicly naked with lots of other naked people, or if that would be even weirder??

Personally i would never pose naked myself…. but i dont get why people make such a big deal out of nudity… i recently saw a documentary about how all around the world great museums locked down all sexually or nude art… like in london where they first claimed that it all had been trown out, but when the journalist found the room where old documents described it would be, the museeum had thrown away the key (hehe sure?!?!)… crazy world
