Burberry Trench - J Brand Jeans - Via Spiga Shoes

What I'm Wearing
* J Brand skinny jeans ...last seen here
* J Crew button down {found in my husband's closet over the weekend whilst organizing it}
* Vintage lace camisole under
* Vintage burgundy suede belt ...seen here
* Burberry trench coat ...last seen here
* Via Spiga loafers with stacked wooden heels
* Vintage baubles necklace ...grandma's ...seen here as a long necklace
* Dark silver and black crystal hoop earrings
* Hair: hot rollers

After last Friday's bedraggled look I thought I'd pull myself together a bit with a timeless, classic, yet modern look. I think it worked. It's so funny that I actually feel more confident and productive when I look the part. Do you feel that way too? Do your outfits describe your mood?

* D&G mirror watch ...gilt.com

Driving home yesterday as the rain was beginning to clear turned the dark LA skies into a gorgeous rainbow of light. The trees all looked so amazing I wish I snapped a few more shots. The colors just burst after a rain.

Headed to our old place to check the mail {that of course is supposed to be forwarded here and is not, thank you USPS} and taking my old route home, I started feeling a bit nauseous and then anxious. It stayed with me for the the next hour or so even after returning back home. I thought it interesting though, the negativity that arose inside of me because of it. I'm so happy to be elsewhere.

I recently discovered your blog and really love your refreshing attitude and the fashion inspiration!

I have a suggestion for a future post for you, if you haven't discussed it already. I recently read that 50% of US women are on a diet at any given time. You seem to have maintained your incredibly healthy weight over such a long period of time. Maybe you could talk about your philosophies about diet, eating, food, etc. Would be so helpful for many people, I'm sure!

I love your outfits, especially the ones you seem to consider modern classics!

As usual, I'm partial to the classic looks ;) Love this and you look great!!

And AB-SO-LUTELY is my mood reflected in my outfit... physical or emotional. My mom used to ask "you're tired, aren't you" when I was in high school when I'd just throw on whatever, throw the hair in a pony, and put on zero makeup.

xoxo J

Love the outfit! The trench is, of course, classic and fabulous. I love your shoes too. I must say that your posts have actually changed the way I look at shoes and I have been stalking some wedge boots lately, including the Pour La Victorie boots. :)

And in response to your posted question -- yes, my clothes completely express my mood. In fact, I try to change my blah moods sometimes by dressing up.

Usually the worse I feel, the better I'll dress - and it really helps me "fake it til I make it" and can totally change my attitude. Of course, I always have super easy go-to backup outfits too.

I ALWAYS feel more productive when I look the part :)
~ same goes for parties, if I have a cute outfit, I am excited for the night. If I don't look cute, I end up not going.

I wanted to tell you my little story. When my son was a year and a half we made the HUGE decision to move him back to our little dinky home town to be near each of our parents (LOVE THEM) - but we knew we would miss the city life. We had pages of pros and cons written up to help us decide.

We moved.

had another son.

this summer we took both boys back to our old house and was hit with how happy we were that we made the move. I even have dreams now that I'm back in the old house and wake up SO RELIEVED I moved!

Happy Love Day Maegan!

BRILLIANT WATCH! This outfit is a bit more demure than I'm used to seeing on you, though. I do love it!

What kind of hot rollers do you use? I'm looking at getting some and was wondering if you liked yours.

Gorgeous! That first picture especially is simply stunning. And your hair = perfection as always ;)

I definitely feel more confident when I'm dressed the part. Like I can do anything. You can totally see it in these pictures of you, too. You look sassy and uber confident! I was just thinking today about how clothes don't make me, but they have a power all their own and people are drawn to them. I am always who I am, regardless, though.
