I'm pretty sure now that I am indeed 100% affected by SAD {seasonal affective disorder} because as soon as the weather warms up and the sun shines brightly I immediately start feeling more like myself.
Our new house has plenty of windows and upon waking I walk through its entirety pulling back the curtains and opening the shutters purposefully as the light is so beneficial to me. I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that I was born with jaundice and was taken directly from the womb and placed under the bili lamp for the first three days of my life on this planet? It's just a theory but as I watch my dogs follow the sun spots around the house to nap in, it seems only natural humans would need the same vitamins that come from sunlight. I am honestly thinking about investing in a light box for next winter. My poor husband. lol.

Oh, doll, it's SO good to see you smile! Of course, I'd be smiling, too, if I had those boots.
Oh SAD... it's this vicious little cycle, you feel like crap so you do nothing, which makes you feel worse, so you do nothing more... Just a few more months(?) til a good Canadian spring...
P.S.Your sunnies are awesome and I am having serious ponytail envy!
You're gorgeous!! Everything you wear looks stunning on you! I definitely dig this outfit!
I feel the same way :( lucky we live where its mostly sunny ...
p.s. those boots are amazing.
Fabulous dress!!
I've definitely got it. Pity us Londoners, where it's always miserable! I'm spending every day daydreaming about where my first holiday in the sun will be this year!
Love the outfit, very springy but still with an edge.
Stunning! You are inspiring my new job new style outfits :) x
those boots are FIERCE!
you look so pretty with a feminine dress & pairing it with a blazer & chunky boots. i totally know what you mean about the sun...i've been stalking my dogs watching them sunbathe. it's still cold outside though!
I have a light box...it's a great investment. I always feel more awake and vibrant after my 15 minute session. Conincidentally, I also was placed under the ultaviolet light shortly after birth and I also have SAD issues. Not sure if there is a correlation but the thought did cross my mind as well.
Oh, love this dress... and pink and grey is fantastic!
I'm on the same page, absolutely. Luckily CO is sunny most of the time, but by this time of winter, cloudy days are harder and harder to get through... counting down 'til spring! :)
xoxo J
YES, THE SUNSHINE DEFINITELY CHEERS ME!! I FEEL LIKE A DIFFERENT PERSON, AND HAVE A LOT MORE ENERGY WHEN THE MORNING SUN IS HERE. WE HAVE HAD A GLOOMY AND COLD WINTER HERE IN NORTHERN COASTAL CALIF. JUST THIS MORNING, THE SUN WAS SHINING, AND I FEEL GREAT TODAY. EVEN SITTING UNDERNEATH A DOWNWARD FACING LAMP WITH A GOOD OLD FASHIONED LIGHT BULB HELPS. MY CAT FOLLOWS THE SUN AND LOVES SITTING UNDER THE LAMP ON DREARY DAYS. STOCK UP ON REGULAR LIGHT BULBS, AS LAWS MIGHT PROHIBIT THEM IN A COUPLE OF YEARS. ACTUALLY I DON'T EVEN NEED THE HEATER ON, AS SITTING UNDER ONE LIGHT BULB IS VERY WARMING. SAVE ON ENERGY RIGHT THERE!!
How amazing this outfit is =)
I love, I wish you visit my blog :D
How amazing this outfit is =)
I love, I wish you visit my blog :D
Le sigh... I can't wait until I can wear dresses and blazers without having to pile on scarves and winter coats.
Enjoy the sunshine in your fabulously pretty outfit!!
you look so pretty in that dress! and the pony tail shows off that gorgeous face!
a light box! you are so funny. but the sun is so cheery. it really is. thank god it is out and about today. :)
I have heard that SAD is caused by low vitamin D, which we get from the sun. You could see if you are getting enough vitamin D or look at a supplement. I am not sure if there is much vit D in M&Ms ;)
Love your blog!! :)
great look,I love the combination of soft pink and grey !
I adore this outfit! I can almost pull of a similar outfit with things already in my closest. Except the dress...which is kinda important here. Thanks for the inspiration! I think the ponytail polished off the look perfectly!
Love it!
I was also born with jaundice and immediately stuck under a lamp. Spring and summer are my happiest seasons without a doubt. I never connected the two but it seems like a reasonable theory! Thanks for sharing the idea, wonder if they've done any fancy studies or anything?? Lol.
Love the boots! They are gorgeous on you :)
I love that belt and I am in complete agreement about SAD - just getting outside for a few hours while it was warmer made me feel so much better! Happy Monday!
oh I love summer!! A light box would be great, winter is so depressing
loved!
I love how simple yet such a cute outfit. I feel the Spring coming!!!
Hey Maegan!! Ow your so beautifull, you make clothing easier!!!!
xo!!!
Danielle
i have sad as well and it is serious stuff. when it rains for long periods of time or is even overcast i feel horrible but the sun comes out and i am a new person. what is funny is that my dog is the same way. always looks for the sunrays in the room and lays there for a while. i would definitely look into getting a lightbox. on another note, you sure look fabulous!

love the ponytail Maegan!
My Life in Style
I am quite the oppposite, and prefer cold, rainy weather.I don't mind sunshine, but where I live (the West Coast of South Africa),the summer gets SUPER hot, like right now.It gets so hot,you can't really go outside much, especially if you have really fair, freckly skin like mine.
I would love to send you some of my sunshine,I've got loads and loads to spare :)
Cute outfit... and yes alot of people get SAD... apparently the Blue Light Therapy works well... def worth a try :)
i'm in love with those bOOTs!!
And great ponytail!! :)
this is just so pretty and cool...it's hard to balance the two, but you nailed it of course!
Get the light! It is worth every single cent. I grew up in Singapore and ended up in Norway. Winters are so long and dark. This year I got the light therapy and some shark oil supplements (omega 3 and vitamin D) and I am alive.
I love your style. Makes me long for warmer climate.
I just bought those boots from LF! I love them, they are the perfect height and rather comfy. You wear them well! :)
First time poster here... I love this outfit and I bought these boots after seeing them in one of your earlier posts - they are HOT! And comfortable too. You have such wonderful style.
I live in a very sun-deprived winter climate and just found this Vitamin D in liquid form at Costco. You just chug a shot of it every day. They refer to it as "liquid sunshine". Whatevah - it has done me a lot of good with the SAD issues.
perfection!
ugh, i think i seriously have sad too. i can't get out of this horrible funk. i need the weather to be something higher than 10 degrees..ughhhhh.
ps: read your most recent post. stay strong, gorgeous and stay positive!
nice belt
I love it! Super cute!
Loving this look SOO much. Everything looks so great together :)
