I randomly clicked on a picture of a pretty blue Easter egg with polka dots the other day that took me to this link at Home Life about coloring Easter eggs ...so I thought I'd give it a go and put my own spin on it.

Initially I thought stickers in different shapes would be genius but found that the blue painter's tape really worked the best at not letting dye under & peeling off easily afterwards {although the little stars worked quite nicely}. I just so happened to find neon food coloring dyes at the market and literally squealed with glee. For each color I mixed 3 cups of hot water, 2 tablespoons of white vinegar then just eye-balled the colors and dip-dyed until I liked the turnout. This was a first at dying brown eggs, which turn out a much richer tone than the white ones and I just love them!

If I had a little more patience I would have done a feather series as well ...so pretty, right? But the thought of cutting more tiny strips of tape was daunting, so I dare you to do it ;) I'm sure the ideas are endless!

That is so great! And I never would've thought to use the brown eggs. I dyed some with my niece this year, who's only 4, but as she gets older, I'll definitely up the ante with food coloring and painter's tape!
WOW, they look amazing! Congratulations!
These look awesome! Great job, so creative.
genious!
my mom always had us do the brown eggs because they end up with a richer color.
I LUV your way of dyeing eggs!! I never would've thought about the blue painter's tape. If I didn't have a dance concert this weekend (read: no time to dye eggs, *sniff*), I would totally do this!!
