Usually I take my own outfit photos ...but these are courtesy of my brother :)
What I'm Wearing
* Vintage turquoise kimono jacket from Osaka, Japan, about 1979. ...My pseudo-grandma, Masumi, brought this fabulous little kimono back from Japan in the late 70's as a gift for my mom. I snatched it from my mom about ten years ago and for some reason lately it has been on my mind. It has so much more detail in person.
* J Brand 914 low-rise cigarette leg in ink - jeans
* James Perse white long sleeve jersey top ...in all actuality, I would have preferred a different top with this but for some reason I have very few white shirts/tops ...which now is at the top of my list of things I "need".
* Vintage necklace {made it longer by attaching a Gucci chain/charm necklace to it} ...was my grandma's ...the Italian one, on my mom's side where many of my other vintage jewelry and clothes are from. Wow, how is it that I am just realizing that both of the grandma's I loved and grew up with had absolutely no blood relation? My mom was adopted {as was her brother, my uncle, who is Mexican} and my dad's mom died before I was born. My grandpa {on dad's side} met Masumi in Japan while touring {he's a drummer}. We've always had sushi on Christmas Eve. I have a surprisingly diverse family. It's kind of awesome really.
* Silver shoes I DIYed last year to look like the YSL cage heels.

I bought two new pairs of jeans over the weekend and I can't wait to get them. I've been wearing the same few pairs {including the ones above} for over 3 years now ...and I'll probably continue to do so ...but I needed a few new washes to throw in the mix. So I picked up a pair of True Religion "Billy"s & Paige Premium Denim "Debonair". Am I the only one who does 99% of her shopping online? It's just so much easier in my opinion and usually, it's free shipping. How can you go wrong, really?

I shop online a lot too and the selections are so much more than in store - plus there is no wait to get your size and in the fitting rooms =))
Love that top you got on!
i like your jeans. How tall are you? the reason I ask is because im always looking for jeans that are really long, Im 5'8" and most jeans I find arent really that long. Yours look like a great length.
So that's why you posture and demeanor are that much softer and sweeter, it's all about the brother.
The kimono jacket is amazing. Even more so since it's an heirloom!
I'm pretty sure I do ALL of my shopping online. So much more selection and I don't have to worry about people, spilled drinks and screaming kids.
beautiful kimono and the jeans fit you so well . i want a pair of pants just like that!
xx ediot
That necklace is just absolutly to. die. for! I wish I could do all of my clothes shopping online but sadly I fit every little thing so differntly. I am never the same size in any store. I can only by things that I can return to the store since I really don't want to have to pay for shipping 2 ways...cuz im a jew :)
I love the hippie vibe of this outfit! As for shopping online... shoes and bags absolutely!!! Clothes.... no... you just never know if it fits and than you need to send it back... plus I do love me some good old fashioned shopping trips every once in a while.:)

I would love to do most of my shopping online, but how do you know what sizes in the different brands and how it'll look. I usually hate shopping for clothes because it makes me feel like a failure. I just never know what will really look good and what to get. I'm 25, 5 feet tall, and about 128lbs so I am a bit curvy. Also being short seems to limit what I can wear. Any suggestions would be great, I know I need to start "fixing" my wardrobe
Gorgeous kimono jacket. The multiple grandmas - you are a lucky lady.
Love the blue shirt!
Love the kimono! Online shopping is great, so many more options, you can shop 24/7, and you can do it from your living room haha.
Great outfit! Brings back memories of my dad's Japanese Happi coat that I used to swipe as a teen to go out dancing in. It was black with a big gold embroidered symbol on the back. This was the late seventies/early eighties and it was my favorite go to item (Dad used to groan because I styled it pretty funky. Ha! ) . I wonder if he still has it . . .
Funny you mentioned the jeans, I was just thinking what a great cut the ones you are wearing are. Might need to check them out.
Love the kimono.
How cute are you and your smiley little self? I would do all my shopping online if I didn't have a weirdly hard-to-fit body :/
Love that outfit!
You are too cute! Love those jeans girl, want them:-)
amazing shoes! I'm in love :)
kisses!
I do at least half of my shopping online, too. I'm an avid user of Ebay, and whatever US store that ships internationally will get on my bookmark list.
Those shoes are fantastic. I love your pants too. They are a good clean wash.

gorgeous kimono! I love the color and as always i love your hair.
I was a die-hard Paige "Blue Heights" denim wearer like it was my business. Then, for some reason, I just couldn't find that style anymore and some foolhardy salesperson told me that it was "discontinued." I was totally bummed and forced to wear my remaining pairs into near oblivion (RIP Jet Blue Heights!) and I moved on to J Brand. N O W, I see Blue Heights have "reappeared" on Revolve Clothing and I'm tempted to order a new pair, though I've gained about 10lbs since my o.g. Paige days.
¿ya con sandalias? aqui todavia no hace tanto calor...
besos

I love the detailing on the kimono jacket - how it looks a little bit different depending on how the sun catches it!! So lovely!
I love the Kimono! Also, I looked at that first pic and thought "where is she?" HA!
