Entryway Coat Closet Organizer …a place for odds n ends

plastic shoe holder for odds and ends -1

I hate clutter. Once I decorate a room, I want it to stay that way …but inevitably, and over time especially, it becomes filled with all the little things you have no other place for. And on a daily basis, a safe place to toss your keys, phones, wallets, sunglasses, and of course, biodegradable doggie poop bags is always essential. My solution to this problem {as well as a solution to lost keys} is the plastic over the door shoe holder {$14.99 @ Bed Bath & Beyond $9.29 @ Amazon} on the inside of our entry-way coat closet.

The original idea came from my previous {and ridiculously small} kitchen in our old condo which had no drawers for silverware and just enough cupboard space for food. I used our hall closet for all of our dishes and on the inner door, used the shoe organizer for silverware. In all actuality, the idea for a home for our odds n’ ends came this time from my husband …who immediately said, “Why don’t we just use the old silverware shoe thing?” …brilliant.

I love the plastic because, clearly, it allows you to see what’s inside every pocket.

And when the door’s closed . . .

An easy and affordable storage solution! {and if you don’t have an entry-way closet, you could easily just hang it over the back of your front door}
