What I’m Wearing
* Ali Ro LBD ….from Gilt …seen here
* Heritage 1981 gray long cardigan
* Vintage belt
* Forever 21 pearl bauble necklace {gift from mom ;)}
* Gold hoops from Etsy – Light Metals, D&G watch from Gilt, Tom Ford “Yvette” sunglasses
* Sam Edelman “Venice” Leather Peep-Toe Granny Boot with gray and black striped socks {ancient and have no idea where I got them}
* black Ferragamo bag with vintage scarf tied.
* Hair …left wet and clipped up …ridiculously messy today …but I kind of loved it.

Through the years I have learned what flatters my legs and what doesn’t. There are shoes that hit at the right spot to lengthen the leg thus making them appear not only longer, but leaner as well. Wearing socks with boots that already come up this high on the ankle is not the best look on my leg. This, I know. But today, I didn’t care. I wanted the look of the socks with the boots so I sacrificed body for fashion. Not something I normally do but again, I didn’t care. LOL. The best shoes -for your best leg- usually have straps that hit somewhere below the ankle bone …the right heel/arch is key as well. These Pour La Victoire’s give me the best leg …for now anyway.

    Your legs look great. I know what you mean, though. I’m 5 3″ so ankle boots make me look like a midget. I love them, though, so I don’t care. I always think about little Japanese girls who often have such tiny little legs. They still look fab though. All about getting the proportion right, I guess.

    I know what you mean! I have these short little stumpy legs and I have to watch out with ankle boots (lots of times they just don’t plain fit in my ankle area). I think you did a fab job with the socks, it’s super cute!! Love you whole outfit!!

    I never thought grey and brown looked good together, but of course you changed my mind.

    you look beautiful. I love that dress and love the scarf you wrapped to your purse. and I think you have amazing legs…regardless of how/where the shoes/socks land…but I do totally know what you mean about knowing what flatters your legs more 🙂 Hope you had a nice day!!

    Well, I think your legs look fine, but I know what you mean about needing shoes to hit at the right spot. And I’m rarely willing to sacrifice ankles (or the appearance of ankles, in my case) for fashion.

    Dear Maegan…
    I’ve been reading your blog since last summer and I probably check (more than once) every day 🙂
    Thank you for all the beautiful things you reveal.

    I think I spotted a stunning pair of platform sandals on your blog with a glass sole under the ball of the foot framed with silver/steel edges… but I can’t find them anywhere and it’s driving me crazy!

    Can you help me out – or was I dreaming them into existence?

    Thanks
