Earth Hour 2010 on Earth Day

Since I never shared our Earth Hour experience with you ...I thought tonight, the eve of Earth Day 2010 would be the perfect time.

As soon as the lights went out, the boys grabbed their phones and started playing games ...I too found my Nintendo DS and had a Sims moment until a few generous visitors stopped by with a house warming gift, The Trio Beverage Dispenser from Z Gallerie which we opened in the dark ...and admittedly was a bit challenging but fun, nonetheless.

I love participating in Earth Hour. It makes me feel part of something much larger ...and also, grateful for electricity :)

really cool... I think I would try to read, by candlelight, that would be interesting!

I so enjoy that hour as well each year, I think I actually want to make it a weekly thing as it puts me in such a nice place of calm that I need since I always feel like I have to be doing something.. It forces me to just be still and remember to enjoy those simple things.

I think we should do that more often... not only for the Earth but for ourselves as well. There's something peaceful about shutting it all off once and a while :)

I love evenings without electricity. When traveling we would often not have any electricity and I loved doing evening activities by candlelight and crawling into bed at a decent hour :)
