PRADA Plex Crystal Diamond-shaped Necklace $895 ~ PRADA Plex Crystal Fume Draped Necklace $895,
PRADA Spring 2010 Runway
While Prada's crystal shoes are a wee bit ridiculous and the chandelier dresses are positively unwearable unless you're a celebrity, the necklaces, on the other hand are quite ravishing. Here's how to make one on the cheap ...that looks nothing but.

I just so happened to have about three of these acrylic crystal chandelier strands which I purchased a couple years ago at JoAnn's fabric for about $10 each around Christmas time. I'm guessing they were meant to be used as garland on the Christmas tree but I used them for my wedding reception in 2006 and since, have used them to decorate curtain rods. While I haven't found this exact strand, below are links to a few others that will work just as well. And if you don't like any of them, keep your eyes open around holiday season.
* Also remember acrylic crystals may not be as sparkly but they are much MUCH lighter and easier to wear than glass ...also look for it on a chain/link system instead of wire or rope. Teardrops @ Decoratemywedding.com, Acrylic link crystals @ Decoratmywedding.com, Clear Octagon acrylic bead strands @ Shopwildthings.com, Marily crystal acrylic garland also @ shopwildthings.com, Various crystal garland strands @ save-on-crafts.com ...if anyone has a resource for acrylic crystal bead garland strands, please leave it in the comment section :)

...& with the extra crystals I made a quick pair of earrings to match

Have Fun!

I'm completely lacking in the "crafty/ability-to-make-things" area -- I love your DIY posts, mostly because you make pretty things, but also because even a non-crafter like myself can follow your easy-peasy directions!!
