While Prada‘s crystal shoes are a wee bit ridiculous and the chandelier dresses are positively unwearable unless you’re a celebrity, the necklaces, on the other hand are quite ravishing. Here’s how to make one on the cheap …that looks nothing but.
I just so happened to have about three of these acrylic crystal chandelier strands which I purchased a couple years ago at JoAnn’s fabric for about $10 each around Christmas time. I’m guessing they were meant to be used as garland on the Christmas tree but I used them for my wedding reception in 2006 and since, have used them to decorate curtain rods. While I haven’t found this exact strand, below are links to a few others that will work just as well. And if you don’t like any of them, keep your eyes open around holiday season.
* Also remember acrylic crystals may not be as sparkly but they are much MUCH lighter and easier to wear than glass …also look for it on a chain/link system instead of wire or rope.
