Shoes with Chains, Anklet Heels, Chainklets
. . . A pseudo DIY

I wore my vintage brass chain necklaces wrapped around my ankles last week with my Calvin Klein snakeskin "Sarika" pumps ...and since I flipped through a magazine and spotted the below image yesterday afternoon, I decided to really drive the point home. Why spend money on the actual shoe when you can add chains to any shoe and get the same affect? I just so happened to have the chains which I found randomly throughout the years at thrift shops but any chunky chain will do. Just make sure they're not too heavy or too tight or you'll be uncomfortable all day.

See how I wore them here

Need some chunky chains?
...here are some budget friendly options that may work ...remember, you'll need one for each ankle {also think about the clasp, you want it small but able to clamp onto almost any part of the chain for a great fit} ...and remember, you'll be able to wear them as necklaces too! Double duty jewelry!

That is a great idea! I have some fake pearl necklaces, I think that could make an interesting shoe decoration.

dreamylacy: yes, pearls would be awesome ....but anything strung {like pearls or beads} could potentially snap and break ...which would be great if someone was chasing you and they broke just in time to scatter all over the floor making everyone slip and fall behind you. what a getaway. lol.

What a fantastic idea! I love the DIY...plus you could totally mix the look up with various chains...switching out gold for silver!

Me likey this idea. I think it might match my meager level of accomplishment when it comes to sewing, cutting, trimming, gluing, or otherwise DIY-ing. And it looks damn sexy too.

Hey, every time you post these shoes I covet. But, what's the style name? Where can I find them? I've been hunting for the perfect pair of closed-toe, closed-heel black (non-suede) shoes forEVer. I bought some Dolce Vita's this winter... and have only worn them twice. They're drop dead gorgeous... and horrible to walk in. (I'm a heel girl, so that's saying something.) Help!!!!! (I am on a budget, which makes things harder.)

This is SO great - the simplest way to add a little pizzaz to an outfit and for so cheap!
I always love the chain section of the hardware store and always wondered what I could use them for.
Fab idea, madame!

I will go to Beverly's Crafts today to see if they have chains in their jewelry dept. Also, I recall seeing small black chain in a roll at Home Depot last year. Might go there, too, to see how light/heavy it is.
