stitching rope loops   lanterns and rope

Old galvanized tea light lanterns from Ikea which used to hang outside & became weathered over time ...loved the way the old nasty rope looked in the bathroom ...but one snapped the other day so I had to replace the rope . . .I stitched loops in place with large needle & white thread

old silver ikea star lanterns

. . .at night ...love

lanterns with tea lights reflecting

I tied in the old beaten up galvanized lanterns by using an large old galvanized flower vase {also from Ikea ages ago} for a trash can and an old pewter soap dish.

1. Oversized Spiny Branch Coral - Pottery Barn {$79} as well as the small coral atop of the cupboard {$19} and the blue glass bottle with coral top {neither of which I can find on their web site right now}
2. Galvanized Tea Light Lantern - Ikea {$4.99 each} I have literally had mine for over ten years now.
3. Ultra Loop Bath Rugs - Bed Bath & Beyond {17" x 24" $19 each} ...Towels all from BB&B as well
4. Small Copper wind chimes used to hang above our stove top in our condo. Made by Arias this is the large version of ours ....but these Woodstock Chimes Moonlight Waves are nice too
5. LOST sign from Etsy - Soady Pop Designs
6. All products L'Occitane ...except hand soap pump

Your decorating blogs are an inspiration how to "lux" up a room just with paint and some simple stuff. Awesome A+

I like the brick soooooooo much, that I'm thinking of using it in my bathroom, maybe even kitchen!! There must be a "shallow" (thinner) brick avaliable somewhere, for outside walls, etc. that I can use indoors. Also, the lanterns are such a great idea. You are so creative.......... you should have your own magazine or book or TV program. Look into it!!

P.S. Love all of the wonderful light in your bathroom! Makes me want to paint my bathroom all bright white.......so airy and calming. Can't stop thinking about wonderful brick, too. It has a European look to it, too.

Absolutely gorgeous! I can not believe that you were able to take a scary looking bathroom and turn it into this without doing a lot. (Not that it didn't take a lot of time and effort, I meant more like renovations-ripping out the brick, etc).

You are a WONDER!!! Now come re-do my house, puh-puh-please? ;P

This is the most creative bathroom I've seen in ages. Who would have guessed that brick would work so well in a bathroom? You've done such an amazing job it makes me wish I had brick in my bathroom!
