. . .when we moved in, it looked like this . . .

. . .and with a little help from my brother . . .
. . . it became this . . .

. . . and with a little white paint & elbow grease
...and cute aqua polka dotted contact paper

. . . and now it looks like this . . .

While it's not the glamourous extreme of the laundry rooms in my inspiration post it is far superior to our old laundry room in our condo I used for the 5-1/2 years prior.
I love the white ...I love the light. I love that it's off the kitchen and leads to a small guest bathroom with hilarious fern wallpaper and out to the backyard. I hung two Tiffany blue small canvases that I painted for our old master bedroom {dog bowls below} and pillow cases {also from our old master} for the curtains to hide the ugly power cords and any mess that might accumulate on that handy little shelf. I found the white tension-rod at Bed Bath & Beyond by Umbra for $14.99 as well as the Umbra Rosetta drapery clips for $7.99 {bought 2 packs} which easily clip on to the fabric holding it in place. The tall cupboard hides our water heater, and above it I hung an inexpensive wall mounted coat rack
One thing I would love to add is a top to place over both the washer and dryer that extends to the wall {like in this inspiration photo} ...not only to give me a level surface but to protect the tops of my machines and also extend to the wall & give me a few extra inches of counter space. But for now, I love it.

It looks beautiful Maegan! I LOVE IT! I love everything about it! The colors, the details, the help of your brother, the doggy bowls , your eco bags...on and on and on. Its a beautiful project and you did a remarkable job with it! AMAZING! I hope you are having a nice day and enjoy the remainder of your vacation!!
This laundry room looks great. I really like it. Mine is in the basement and looks far worse than what is shown in your 'before' pics.
You did such a great job. It has a wonderful spring feel to it, and I love the pale blue accents.
my life in style
Maegan,
Might be obsessive but I read your blog every morning when I clock in to work at 9. I'm one of those creepers who don't comment, ever. Just thought I would let you know you have a fan in New Jersey :P
Have a lovely day,
SUPER cute. And the curtains are a great idea! will have to keep that one in mind.
Looks amazing! You can maybe have plexi glass cut to order from homedepot or online (they have all sorts of thickness options) to use on top of the washer/dryer.
I love the whole look and could imagine looking FORWARD to doing laundry! Right now, we send ours out in NYC ;)
It looks great!
So much an improvement! Just a breath of fresh air!
what a great job! love how "light" it all looks...love the little fruit/veggie bag holder...
p.s. fantastic brother...i can't even get mine to move a furniture piece for me =/
That looks amazing!

Awesome redo! It looks so heavenly to me... I dream of laundry rooms. For now, I'll (try to) be thankful for my space in the garage.
Oh my gosh what a breath of fresh air! Love it!!

p.s. your brother is truly a hottie ;)
That is awesome! Can you guys come do mine!
wow, it´s great, oh y god how it changed from dark red to pure white. Congrats to you and your brother. Why don´t you make a post of pictures of your house? I mean, all pictures together, I follow you since you bought the house and If you make an all togheter pictures, that will be great. (sorry for my bad english).
Creo que queremos un super reportaje de decoracion de tu casa ya que veo los grandes cambios que estas haciendo y me parecen increibles y dignos de ser publicados en revistas.
Thank you so much.
la reina cotilla ....I think once I finish all the rooms in the house, I will do a page/post or slideshow of the entire house completed ...but I'm too much of a perfectionist to do it now ...hopefully soon though :)
wow you did a fantastic job!

wow it looks so great!
Looks fantastic! I love how light and airy and fresh it feels.
I love seeing all the before pictures to help me understand how the process evolved. My laundry room in my rental apartment is a fright--pretty sure it hasn't been cleaned/dusted EVER. In my defense I don't know how I'm supposed to move a washing machine to clean behind it, but still, it's gross. Hopefully these pictures will inspire me to get my act together and do a little tidying up in that area of my apartment.
Looks amazing!! I love how light and airy the room is <3
it looks absolutely amazing!!!
Honestly, you have TRANSFORMED it! I love your interior design as much as your crafting.
I love the way it looks now! You're SUPER stylish all the way possible! As I said in previous comments, I'm totally in love with your home; tomorrow afternoon I'll share these new updates with my boyfriend, just to repeat again "I still want one of this, keep in mind baby..."
Regards from Spain!
I love what you've done! it's so much brighter now, you're an artist, I really loved what you did to your bathroom too. :)

Fresh and lovely
Looks great! Clean, fresh and contemporary... Good job M!
I am so jealous. My laundry room is outside & it has scary spiders in it. Not very inspiring, so the tedious task of doing laundry is even more unpleasant. Nice job!

Simply love everything about this. It's fabulous, affordable, and attainable...every DIY home makeover should be like this one. Bravo.
Looks fantastic! At first I thought the top pic was from a magazine...seriously.
I need to do something with my laundry room.
Just found you and glad I did! What a beautiful makeover ... with a laundry room like that I'd be sending my kids out in stocking feet and telling them to play in the mud!
oxoxox

You are so creative. You must be so proud!
gorgeous!
<3

wow!
I love current look, everything looks so clean, gantle, friendly and fresh :)
this is too cute! makes me wish I had a laundry room :D
you are so talented with decorating! this looks beautiful!
It looks really nice...Good Job!!I think if my laundry room looked this cool and breezy I'd be more motivated to stay up on doing laundry..
Lovin it...Good day to ya!!
Wow! Amazing transformation! I've just started re-decorating our home and your posts are so inspiring :)
Gah... I'm SO jealous of your pretty laundry room! The laundry is one of the rooms in our house that I'm totally stuck on. I think it's because there's no natural light, so when I painted everything white, it still didn't feel quite like I'd hoped.
You did such a wonderful job! Love it!
I love the colors. The turquoise in the curtains is a nice touch. Very nice :D
Simple and elegant. You did an amazing job!

So cute! Love the Aqua!
So when are you and the construction crew (your hubs & bro) coming to my house to do a laundry room make over for me? Love it Maegan!!! Gorgeous!!! XOXO
This room makes me want to do laundry. Imagine that. As a matter of fact, I think I'd make my peach mint raspberry coolers and a magazine and kick my heels up while my clothes were drying in the crispness that is that laundryroom.
It looks SO fresh and clean! Loooooove the blue!
possibility for top of machines:
a hollow door is very inexpensive and can be painted or covered in contact paper. A 1X2 along the walls to prop it on. Easy peasy...
very inspirational! x
oh my gosh that looks amazing!! I love seeing all your DIY projects and your home decor posts! They're so inspiring!
Great work! You have inspired me to do my own laundry room makeover :)
I wish I had a real laundry room instead of a laundry closet. Ah the lives of people living on condos.
XX.
Mae Lu, thereafterish.
love it! love your ideas!!! :)
