I really REALLY want this Hermes iphone case. Like really want it. I think it's because, besides their cute leather key chains and {some select} scarves, it's the only thing that's affordable. And really, I wouldn't say that $315 is necessarily affordable for an iphone case, a key chain OR a scarf, but for Hermes, it's down right cheap. And I want it.
Here's the thing, I'm not sure I can really justify spending the $315 on a case that is made for an iphone that is technically obsolete, even though I will have mine for the next 2 years ...but then what would I use the beautiful Hermes iphone case for? Right ...justifiable, I think not. Beautiful and completely coveted, I think yes.
So now I'm thinking I may just make my own damn iphone case out of all that extra leather I have laying around. But it wouldn't be Hermes. And maybe I'll buy a scarf instead because at least I know in 20 years {if we are all still alive on this planet} that Hermes scarf will still be chic ...just like it was 20 years ago.

* And this is a little peek at how I make decisions about what to splurge on and what to save on and how and when I decide to DIY something. Though sometimes, all rational thinking goes out the door and I just buy it. :)

$315!?!?
DIY for sure. But that is a nice case. I'd just save the money for shoes :P
sigh hermes, hellloo DIY Maegan ;)
Total DIY!!
I'm with Yasmeen, spend it on shoes! ;)
I read the first line and immediately thought that would could defintly make a case like this by yourself :o (since you have experience working with leather)
and put that 315$ in the scarf coz you just can't DIY that print ;p
But wait, the scarves illustration gives me the idea that the iPhone case can be used to store playing cards! /devilsadvocate
But your DIY skills are so amaze-balls, you must do the DIY. xx
Yes! I have to agree: DIY the case and buy the scrf. We all know you will come up with something great!
I have to agree - DIY the case and buy the scarf! The scarf will be chic even in 50 years, while the case by then... not used for anything at all. :)
I saw that recently too and swooned a little. However, you're right, technology moves way to fast to splurge on something like that. Buy a few pocket squares instead - they're equally chic tied around a wrist as a bracelet or your neck.
Hi Maegan! I was lucky enough to go to the Hermes store opening in Chicago and they GAVE us the leather key chain!! I've always wanted one of the scarves. I'm thinking I'll treat myself for my 45th birthday. Don't wait that long!
I would love it if you DIYed the case and posted the tutorial...I also have a (technically obsolete) iphone and some leather scraps but your expertise would help me take it to the next level!
LOVE! happy to find your blog. hope you stop by and say hello. x
