. . . all day and into the night. In fact, the snoring at night is quite possibly even louder than his normal breathing noises. These noises do one of two things to people who are unaware of their normality: 1. Scare them {as if Bebop was snarling & going to bite them} and 2. Make them worry that something is wrong. I assure you that these are normal sweet stylings of Pugs ...and anyone with a pug or other smashed face dog can vouch for this, I'm sure of it.
note* while LeRoy, our Frenchie snores like an old man, his normal breathing pattern is silent ...for his face is not as smashed as the Pug's. However, what he lacks in annoying sounds, he makes up for with his potent farts ;)

my two smooshed faces make snoring, grunting, farting, burping, snarling and fat kid breathing noises all day every day. to some people that might get annoying...to me it's a proud mother moment.

Both of dogs have smushed faces (shi tzus) and sometimes when I wake up I have to make sure it's not me that's snoring loudly, it's them.
we started to give Cupcake (our bulldog) natural Greek yogurt from Trader Joes -- just a healthy table spoon on top of her kibble and in a few short days the room clearing--tear educing flatulence has been almost completely gone away. I am thrilled with the simple solution.
This made my night! LOL! And, LeRoy is one stylish dog. ;-)

He's adorable! I'm a pug mommy also. We have two pugs. Both of them had breathing problems when they were young. Each had surgery to shorten their soft palate. As a result, their breathing is so much easier now.

And I totally agree with the poster who said your voice sounds exactly like one would imagine it based upon the way you look. I find it so cool when that happens.
I LOVE HIM. I love how his head cocks when you say "You like snacks?" My dogs do that when I say "You wanna treat?" or "You wanna go?" I love little furbabies.
PS: My long haired chihuahua snorts & snores... I think it's common for a lot of little dogs, even no-smushed-face ones. My parents' chihuahua snorts too. NO NEED FOR ALARM PEOPLE.
we were dog sitting our neighbors pug and he made those noises too! it was awesomely cute though would probably keep me up at night! lol
