What I’m Wearing
* Juma dark taupe/gray shorts from GILT
* Myne – Ashly Ann navy/ivory print tank/blouse also from GILT. I love this tank blouse with it’s braided straps & t-back …but ohMYGOD it would not stay up! All day long I had to pull it up in the front as too keep from showing the world my entire bra. Like literally, it would slip down that far in the front. It was blowing my mind. I adore the print though so I’m going to have figure out how to alter it to prevent it from exposing my boobs all day because I don’t want to wear anything under it.
* Vintage beige blazer last seen here
* Boutique 9 Anklestrap Sandal …last seen here
* worn with a favorite vintage gold shell necklace, a clover necklace inspired by Van Cleef’s Alhambra necklace from NYLightMetals -Etsy shop, vintage gold & ruby ring {grandma’s} + various gold stacking rings from GILT, D&G gold watch, gold bangles and gold hoops
* Tom Ford Anouk sunglasses
* Louis Vuitton medium speedy bag …and as much as I keep thinking I should retire this again, it happens to go with all the outfits I’m putting together lately so at this point, why bother? 🙂 It’s always a classic

I would have sent these shorts back if they weren’t final sale because when I first tried them on I thought they were absolutely horrendously unflattering. It was strange then why this particular morning I decided to rip them out of their shipping bag and try them on with this blouse & blazer and find that I quite liked the outfit. It reminded me of one of the final scenes in the movie Pretty Woman, where Vivian and Kit walk out by the pool of the hotel and Julia’s wearing a red shorts suit. Now, her blouse was tucked into her way-too-high-waisted shorts & her blazer’s shoulder pads were a bit out of control but my more modern version had a similar vibe …or feel at least, when I was wearing it.
And to just quote that fabulous scene . . . “those were very specific cases of crack heads” which makes me laugh harder than the “Cindefuckinrella” line that follows * the title of this post is also from that scene

Love the outfit. So funny–I wore something recently that reminded me of Pretty Woman too. It was a cream dress and a big black hat (like she wore after the successful shopping scene).
Isn’t it crazy how a movie can stick in your subconcious forever and influence how you dress even 15 years later?
Ashley
Pretty Woman is my favorite movie of all time so, while I usually don’t leave comments, this post gets my cosign. 🙂 Looking beautiful & I love the blazer!

When I first saw this, I LOVED it, especially the shorts- I guess it’s weird how first impressions vary!

I adore the shoes! My movie style inspiration has definitely got to be “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” (although today could be walking out of “Almost Famous” – I adore Kate Hudson’s hair in that!)

I love the top! Sorry it’s being difficult!
Lindsey
As always, I love the look! And your jewelry is fab!!
Danna
I was totally feeling the “Pretty Woman” vibe through the entire post!
Love it.
P.S. Picked up “Lapis of Luxury” this weekend. LOVE IT. I can’t wait to try OPI’s “What’s with the Cattitude?”

You have a killer shoe collection. I drool.

Such a cool summer outfit. I hate when I wear a top that does that…so uncomfortable! I put one of the bandeau (spelling?) bras under it & it look like it’s supposed to be WAY down there without showing the goods.
So I posted some wedding photos & wrote about the faux pas…same dress!

I love the print of that top! How about fashion taping it to your bra straps?
PeaceLoveApplesauce
I love the tank! Maybe you could wear a cami underneath for a little extra coverage for when it slips??. 🙂

Super cute outfit!
Pauline
Such a pretty top but so annoying when that happens! I usually just wear a little bandeau top underneath so if the top slips down in front then I’m covered!

Lisa - respect the shoes
As much as I like Julia Roberts, I think that unfortunately she likes to rock the high-waisted pant thing both in and out of character too much.
You are definitely working a much better version of the “reformed Vivian” outfit.
Love the blouse and the cloverleaf necklace!
Sandy
Very cute top. Is there any way that you could fasten the straps together in the back so that it would hold it in place? Maybe some king of cute pin so that if you didn’t have the blazer on it would show and look okay?
Daniela
love this outfit! Good thing the shorts were final sale….

Ooh, I like this a lot, and it’s helping me… I just bought a pair of long shorts to wear to work (its so farkin’ hot to wear pants right now), but have been feeling blah about the outfits I’ve been putting together with them. Thanks for the inspiration… as usual 😉

Just bought a tank with a rope t-strap yesterday and it does the same thing. Let me know if you find a fix! Also, almost bought some shorts of that color/texture yesterday as well, but shorter, and now I’m sad I didn’t. So cute!

I LOVE this entire outfit. The ikat print on your tank is adorable and your cream blazer adds a polish to whole ensemble. I want a cream blazer so bad… I just haven’t found one that fits me right yet.
