Botero Restaurant at The Wynn Encore

When the husband made dinner reservations for Botero at the Wynn Encore in Vegas for Monday night I thought nothing of it until we walked in and were surrounded by ginormous bronze sculptures and paintings by artist Fernando Botero. And as I was pointing to the large nude in the center {titled "The Seated Lady"}, smugly explaining to the husband that it was probably fake {as most things in Vegas are typically fantastic facades}, I was quickly corrected by a waiter close by who informed me that it was indeed real and was purchased for 18 million {if I remember correctly}.

Fernando Botero is one of my favorite artists actually. Drollgirl & I have been lucky enough to see a few small to medium sized bronze sculptures pass through the gallery and have fallen in love with each equally. Though my most favorite was Little Bird, a small version of the one at MOCA - Hiroshima - Japan. Needless to say, I was taken by all the details in this restaurant ...and the food was pretty great too.





























We sat poolside, which was pretty fabulous and ordered drinks off of the specialty menu which were divine. Many of the shots above were from Monday night however, I did return the next day to get a few in day light. I suppose I would give it 5 stars for design/ambiance and 4 for deliciousness but I definitely recommend it if you're like us and go to Vegas more for the food than the gambling ;)


*We are leaving today and will be home soon ...I miss our dogs so much it borderlines insanity and I cannot wait to get home to see them
