I’m sure everyone’s talking about the Emmys & I won’t be the exception but I’ll make it short

1. Ricky Gervais was my favorite part
2. Claire Danes had my favorite dress
3. Modern Family is one of the best new shows on TV and I’m so glad it won for so many things …though it had some pretty stiff competition.
4. We need to start watching Mad Men …if for nothing else but the insane boobage {did you happen to catch the Ryan Seacrest interview with Christina Hendricks on E? …nuff said

What was your favorite part? Favorite dress? Thoughts?

Mad Men is so smart and well-written. There is so much eye candy too! If you decide to watch, you really need to go back and watch from season 1 or you will be completely lost and miss out on what’s going on and why. It’s a fabulous show

Oh my God I love that dress! You pull it off extremely well. I can never find cute stuff when I go to that store!

I loved Keri Russell’s hot pink dress at the Emmy’s. It was so refreshing to see a bright color amongst all the navy. I love navy but it was completely overdone. Plus, Keri’s dress was an ankle length and I loved that as well. I also loved Kyra Sedgwick’s dress but her hair was TERRIBLE.

I can’t believe you found that dress at F21 – I thought that it must be vintage – what a crazy cool piece!

I watched the Emmys and adored Ricky Gervais – you’re absolutely right that he was the best part.

I like January Jones’s dress best – I know that people kind of hated it, but I think it’s just because it photographed poorly. It was made of feathers, not cupcake wrappers :)

    love the summery stripes

and to your thought provoking post regarding angry households

undereath anger is hurt and sadness

A good cry is the key, but its harder to let one out as you get older, especially after being conditoned to wear our masks in the real world.

Being obsessed with things that distract us, is another way of blocking out whats eating you.
The coping mechanism works for awhile,
but not sure if the anxiety really ever goes away, just gives some temporary relief.

Not sure what the answer is but I’m sure it will come to you.

    Cheers

Just said a prayer for you.

I know this is hocus pocus, but I struggled with keeping a pregnancy. I read this:
The elephant also symbolizes fertility because Buddha is said to be conceived when he entered his mother’s womb as a white elephant. Childless couples or those wishing to have more children should place elephant images in their bedroom to increase fertility luck. A set of seven elephants bring fertility luck to childless couples since the number seven represents children in Feng Shui.

I don’t normally seek out stuff like the above, but when yoy are desperate you’ll try anything.

So, bought a small elephant from Pier 1, placed it above bed. Now have two kids, Passed that same elephant along to two friends and they had kids. You might as wel try. Love your blog.

    Maegan,
I know you closed comments on your sadness post…probably to avoid any remarks about you just trying to clear your head. But, I’m being an annoying reader and commenting anyway because I feel so drawn to. I’ve been keeping up with your stuggles for quite sometime and my heart breaks each time I read a post about your fertility.

I’m just hoping to offer a glimmer of perspective in hopes that you realize that your dream can be a reality! I know you want things to happen naturally and feel like a failure because thats not happening to you. I completly understand where you are coming from in that aspect. And maybe you feel like going down the fertility treatment route would cause more heartache if it didn’t work. Or maybe you have conflicted feelings about it, or maybe you just don’t want to deal with it. I get that too.

After having a miscarriage just about a month ago at 11 weeks along, I realized that I can’t control my body and make it do what I want. I can’t control nature and I felt like a crazy animal trying to understand why my body couldn’t hold on to our child. It’s a panic that only those who have been there know. It’s in our instinct to want our children so badly, whether we can get pregnant or not. The feeling of loss and longing is universal and I do feel your pain on a level only we can know.

I’m hoping to share some advice I recieved from my readers on my blog (a measly 108 compared to your 4000!). Just don’t give up. Please don’t. You are so creative and talented and driven and I KNOW deep down inside you somewhere is a fighter. You are on a great path of relaxing and letting yourself process all of your feelings about your situation, and I think you have come MILES from where you were. I think we are a lot alike because we want things done our way, in the time frame we planned, in the perfect place we desire.

Life doesn’t work like that. And it sucks balls. I had to find that out in the most sickening way possible as my hopes and dreams and the life inside of me slipped away into a toilet. It shook me to my core believe me, but it also made me realize something. I want my child. I will have my child. And I will go to any lengths necessary to be the mother I know I was born to be.

I’m not saying fertility treatments are a 100% sure way to get pregnant. But I’m saying if there is a chance…I’m grabbing it and f-ing trying because this dream we have, this need inside us to be mothers can’t be for nothing. I refuse to believe that. And maybe your route won’t be the same as mine. Maybe you will adopt, maybe someday you will have a moment where you are ready to begin treatments, maybe your husband will come home horney as hell tonight and rock your world and knock you up! I don’t know. But one thing I do know, even if you can’t see it now. Mark my words girlfriend.

    You…will…be…a…mother.
In some way shape or form.

    And so will I.
    xoxoxo

birth control has ruined my skin. i hate it but i’ve changed brands 3 times in the past 2 years for other reasons and it all does the same thing. i’m only 28 and i look terrible. my lady parts also hate me so i probably don’t even need to be on it to begin with. according to my gyno i have a “post-menopausal uterine lining”. gee thanks.

I’m commenting on today’s post here, since comments are turned off. i totally feel you in the pregnancy thing. I was always the one that just knew I’d have a house full of kids. My family & friends always call me for advice on babies. I’m great with them. I always thought I’d be a mom.

I can’t get pregnant although every freaking one of friends/siblings/family who HATES kids or never wanted kids has ended up pregnant. It kills me. I’m about to be 34, and being unemployed for almost a year has pretty much dashed any hopes (fertility costs). And I’m a nanny for a living! How ironic, right?

But why won’t you try the fertility route? Especially if that’s the only thing *maybe* preventing you from pregnancy? Have you both been checked out? (I’ve been on your blog a year, but cannot remember if you have or not.)

Feel free to rant anytime and know you are not alone. Not at all!

I totally agree about Ricky Gervais being the funniest part! My bf and I saw him at the Nokia in April and he was hilarious. You can always count on him for lots of laughs :) Claire Danes also had my favorite dress of the night. (I know you disabled your comments in the most recent post but I just wanted to let you know I have felt the same way and I know how difficult it can be. I’ll be thinking of you and sending you lots of positive thoughts so everything becomes clearer and better)

regarding your last post, the sad one, I’d like to ask you something (and you don’t have to answer, except if you really want to). why do you wish to give birth so much? how do you think your life will change for the better after that? I hope this doesn’t sound rude, that wasn’t my intention at all.

and p.s. I thought I’d be sad/depressed forever too, but I’ve been feeling pretty happy/sane for the last few months!

Since I’m unable to post to your next blog entry regarding Julia and her being childless…it said in the movie that she married at an older age and remained a virgin until then. By that time she would not have been able to conceive.

**If you don’t want an opinion on your post, stop reading here.**

I wish you all the best of luck, and remember, just because you may be unable to bring a child with your own blood running through it into this world, you could still adopt a baby that needs just as much love and attention as one you would create yourself, and I guarantee you will love them just as much. If all else fails, you always have Pep to fall back on for support – and your niece to spoil the crap out of!

**And then you can start back up here if you’d like!**

Good luck this week in figuring things out, everything will turn out alright in the end.
