Come on with the rain I've a smile on my face

Hunters Wellies CARNABY BOA rain boots+red kate spade bag+pug

I always think it's a bit ridiculous when I see other LA bloggers wearing Hunter rain boots ...because, let's be honest, we all know it doesn't rain much here. However, whenever it does happen to rain I always wish I had a pair. Still, I could never really justify spending money on them ...until now.

You see, the husband and I found some personal belongings of someone elses while we were in Vegas and tracked said person down on Facebook, proving to me that Facebook is indeed good for something, and then sent said belongings back to said person. I wasn't planning on sharing any of this information until said person sent me a thank you in the form of a Neiman Marcus gift card. And since it was completely unexpected {and totally appreciated} I thought why not spend it on a pair of Hunters, which I would otherwise not buy.

And there you have it.

Hunters Wellies CARNABY BOA TALL+red kate spade bag

I chose the black Carnaby Boa rain boots in tall and am wearing them with my American Apparel thigh high cotton socks in dark grey with my Kate Spade red crocodile tote which I scored at a recent Gilt sale. So I'm set for the rain this year ...and ya know what? It probably won't shed a drop!

*Title: lyrics from Gene Kelly Singing in the Rain

You have the best luck in the world! How nice of them to send you a NM gift card!! When I find things all I get is a simple thank you if that at all. That was very nice of you though to send their things back.

I love these rainboots! Living in PA, it rains here quite frequently...actually it's pouring right now and my rainboots are sadly in the trunk of my car :( Looks like I'll have wet feet after work.

That is the sweetest story Maegan! I bet that person was so grateful and I do love the rain boots you picked out. They are perfect. About the skirt on gilt, I noticed it was gone, but I did purchase it at the last Gilt sale! Maybe it will pop up on final sale? x

I meant I purchased it at the last Gryphon sale, but did not see it at the current one.

I got the same Kate Spade bag too! I'm still waiting for it to arrive in the mail. It looks absolutely beautiful in your photos and I am jealous you got yours already.

Love,

Kat

I have those boots in plain black. I love yours. When it's cold in the mornings and you want to run out they are better than wearing uggs.:)
When you do the right thing you always get rewarded some how huh... Hope you're having a great day!

The most awesome things happen to you... I live vicariously thru you.

Those boots are fierce!! I've been wanting a pair for quite some time now. I'm sure I wont have the luck of getting them thru/for a gift so, eventually I'll be forking over my own bucks and when I do, I want a pair like yours- ♥ 'em!

Like the purse and socks too :)

Are those hazelnuts on the ground?! If they are, I'd totally sit right there with a nutcracker all day long. PS your boots and your dog are cute!

How nice of you to go out of your way to send someone else's belongings back to them, and what a fabulous reward! I was thinking of asking for some Hunters for Christmas (it rains all the time here) and I think you may have just cemented their place on my wish list.

Maegan, please excuse me for not commenting in so long. It's been a ridiculous summer of really good and really bad extremes.
I'm totally jealous of those rain boots, since we get tons of rain where I live. It's actually raining right now.
Bravo to you for mailing those possessions back to their rightful owner. xo d

my word ver. is gercsgod. Sounds like a good name for a pickle, I think.

I LITERALLY would never have this kind of luck. I once found $300 on the ground in a mall in an envelope and I picked it up and stood there with it because I figured the person would soon realize it was missing and they might try to retrace their steps. I wasn't going to give it to concierge because I couldn't trust they wouldn't snatch it since it was cash. The person did come back, in a mess of tears, and retrieved their cash. I didn't even get a hug. You got a NM gift card. Ermm... I'm not bitter.

And, gorgeous. Gorg. Love them.

Oh I wish!!!! How wonderful of you to return their items and for them to reward you! I am saving my pennies for Hunter Wellies and they will be mine shortly!!! Love the look you've got!

ps. . I have a pair of what I like to think of as Hunter knockoffs and I love them so much that I wear them rain or shine!

All I can say is, I hope Hunter rain boots are made not to melt. My daughter just had to have rainboots to style last winter. At the first drizzle she threw those puppies on. When I picked her up from school I asked her if she'd rocked her rain boots. She sadly told me that it stopped drizzling around 10:00 a.m. and when they went out for lunch her boots started melting on the blacktop. She did smell a bit like rubber. Oh well, the joys of Southern Cali. BTW, her boots were courtesy of Target.

That is so sweet and thoughtful of you guys to track down the person:) I'm sure they greatly appreciate it!! So generous of them, too, to send a Neiman Marcus gift card! WOW! Very cute rainboots:)

I was laughing as I read this because I have two pairs of Hunters and live in Hawaii, talk about ridiculous. I wear them if I visit the farming operations at my job (which isn't often, I'm usually in the office) or if it rains heavy, we get huge ankle deep muddy puddles between my office and the car.

I also wear mine to the motocross track. The BF rides a quad and it's dirty as hell in the spectator area. If you don't have wellies on, your legs get coated in dirt, it's disgusting.

I'm jealous though, yours are prettier than mine and I considered those but had to admit would look silly in a canefield or at the track :-(

I understand! I live in Jamaica and every time I put on my rain boots I get stares and comments, even when it is in fact RAINING!! But I love 'em, and I won't stop wearin' 'em what can I say?!
