Here's how you know you're a great match

* You bring out the best in each other not the worst.
* You boost each other's confidence instead of zapping it.
* Don't marry someone who you'll love "if" ...accept them for who they are now, not who you think they will become {chances are they won't change and neither will you}.
* If it's not like the movies ...that's how it should be. Really {I was engaged once before and it was all kinds of wrong. There is such an extreme difference}.
* Your partner let's you be whomever you are and/or whoever you want to be - and vice versa. If you can't be yourself, your "self" will go crazy and come out any way it can {i.e. panic, anxiety, sickness}
* You're together because he treats you wonderfully and vice versa, not because of the way he looks or what his job title is, those are secondary. Most importantly, does he treat you the way you want to be treated. Period. No question mark.

Here's how to keep each other happy

* Compromise. Barter even ...sexual favors do work ;)
* Let him play his videos games ...or tinker in the garage ...or whatever he enjoys doing in "his time", let him ...and he will in turn let you have "your time" as well. No resentments.
* Let each other speak without talking over, interrupting or even finishing sentences - alone & in a group setting. You are still two unique individuals with separate voices.
* Tell each other what your needs and wants are. No one can read minds and we shouldn't expect anyone to either. Communication is key.
* Choose your battles. But if something's on your mind, address it before it spirals into a "You never do anything EVER" kind of tornado.
* Do something on occasion to make your partner feel special.
* Accept your similarities AND your differences. Having different interests is important. And so is coming together uniting and enjoying the same activity.
* When you begin to get worked up about the little things your partner NEVER does ;) ...remember all the things he/she ALWAYS does ...and also remember that there may be things they think we NEVER do either. Nobody's perfect.
* Don't forget the sexy sexy time ...and ladies, remember it's okay to be a porn star in your own bedroom {at least once in a while} Men are very visual creatures ...and you want their "vision" to be of YOU ;)


We all know relationships are sometimes hard work {these tips are a reminder for me as well} and we all know that every couple loses themselves in a screaming match sometimes {even roommates, siblings, house guests fight} but if each party is on the same team, on the same page of the book, all systems are a go. Respect each other and accept each other ...the good and the bad and the ugly and you'll share a life of happiness together.
