This was actually part of my How to Hot Roller your Hair tutorial but it was too long to include it ...so it works as a bit of a holiday hair tutorial video instead. Towards the end, I've recreated my "Messy Side Bun" but in the center so it's really just a "Messy Low Bun-Twisty-thing" but it's just as easy. Note: some mumbling and random crazed laughing may commence. Enjoy.
products I used

* Jumbo Bobby Pins (Brown)
* Good Hair Days Magic-Grip Plastic Hairpins
* HOLLYWOOD Small Bobby Pins (Brown)
* scunci MICRO Oval hair clips/Jaw Clip
* scunci 2cm CHUNKY Jaw Clips
* Bed Head TIGI Maxxed Out Hair Spray - 8.0 oz.
Voila!

Also note, this was a couple weeks ago. The striped look has calmed and blends much better now and looks much softer on a whole, though there are a few sections in the back that still bug me a little.

great tutorial! will try the side bun thing... i dunno if my hair is long enough but i was trying to think how to do my hair for NYE and xmas day. now what to wear?
I love your hair tutorials. Ok, I love your hair actually. The thing is that I like my hair a lot but it is so thin that I don't know what to do about it. But I keep trying :)
My current hobby!
Your hair tutorial video is so cute. Love how you kept giggling!! Love the hair!!
xoxo,
MelRod
Very helpful! I'm going to try the twisty style (the first one) :) Thanks!
Wish my hair was half as thick as yours ha. Great tutorial though!
How about more big, beautiful afro-like curls next time? It would be a nice Christmas present to your faithful readers (not to mention your husband).
Love this hairstyle! I love that hairspray too :)
cute!
What a charming hairstyle, you make it so effortless looking ! Happy Christmas Maegan from snowy Ireland.x
You mention the "stripe" effect of your hair but I love it! I'm always drawn to funky hair color that is done well, and yours is perfect. I have thick hair too and have been working on wearing it wavy vs stick straight (which shows the split ends more). Thanks for sharing!
Wow... that's some bombshell holiday hair! LOVE IT. xo.
Lovely do - it looks really soft!
this is way off topic, but i can't recall you mentioning this. you have gorgeous skin. mine is awful. i know a lot is just genetic.
but what is your skin care routine? what products do you use?
I always think you look beautiful but I think you look like a photo I saw of Nicole Kidman today. Has anyone ever mentioned that to you before?
It looks fabulous!! (and easy!)
Thanks :)
in your video, you really look silly...especially your laugh...arrghh
hooray, your writings on theater and writing much missed!
Wow! You're so in love with yourself.
omg haha I couldn't help but giggle along with you when you would giggle. I am going to try so hard to get my curls to look like this. My hair is so fine it's like pulling teeth to get a curl to stay in for longer an hour. Off to give it a shot
That's such a cute idea! I've never seen a tutorial like this one before, but if I ever want to try something similar, I know where to look!..
