these photos were taken after we returned home ...the sleepies from the food and drink coma in full effect
What I'm Wearing ...it's actually a version of this outfit but with gray accents vs brown
* MYNE Ashly Ann white trapeze tank blouse from GILT with black tank under. And since the entire outfit was loose and un-body-con, I had to pump up the cleavage for the husband ;)
* Vintage Bill Kaiserman blazer/jacket {my absolute favorite - I've had it for at least 8 years}
* Vintage nylon pants ....tag says S.G. Sport Collection. I pegged the bottoms to cinch them in a bit with my Hem Gems
* Rosegold gray boots also from GILT ...which have indeed become my favorites of the moment. I just pull them on with everything it seems. {BlueFly has the brown pair available}
* gray feather earrings ...my mom got these for me last Christmas actually ...I think they're from Forever 21
* OPI nail polishes: One coat of You Don't Know Jacques!
The husband has banned me from blogging this week ...insisting that I needed a break. And he's right. I do need a break. I need to collect my thoughts, reflect, open my eyes to new inspiration and get back to why I started blogging in the first place. But it's hard to stay away really. {I miss you guys}
So instead of a complete withdrawal from my internet life, I've decided to just remove all my self-imposed "blogging rules" and post whatever and whenever I get around to it ...for this week anyway. Besides, who's gonna want to see Christmas photos next week ...right? ;)
Hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and are taking it easy this week like we are. {and if you can't find me here, I'm always on Twitter}
As tradition goes, Christmas Eve is always spent with my dad's side of the family and Christmas day with my mom's. And this year was no exception. Here are some photos of our night ...I only wish I had more. {you may be able to see more holiday photos from my family tagged in Facebook if you're following me, just fyi}

i love hwere you put the tree: next to the golden stump. :)
Haahaa! ...and I love the "no blogging" but "Twitter" week you're having.
Here, in NYC, there's terrible snow.
I've literally been trapped in the house, and working on my new blog has been my salvation from cabin fever.Wish I was over there on the West Coast, but until then...
...I wish you a relaxing, non-taxing week!
Chic and comfy! I love the boots too.
Sometimes a forced blogging hiatus is completely necessary and even totally refreshing. You'll make it to the other side, I promise!
And I love your Christmas eve outfit--totally chic, comfy, and flattering!
Sleepies from food & drink coma is oh so truuue! I had the same thing, my dear. Your hair looks gorgeous as always & those booties are adorable!
This look is a little different than most of the Christmas Eve outfits I've seen- I like! :)

So happy that we got a little sneak in even on your short break!! I still miss you though! Haha! You look so lovely (love the slouchy pants + feather earrings)...and I hear you on taking a break! I'm doing exactly the same thing...stepping back and posting only when the mood hits me...feeling like a hermit and slowly going into withdrawal;-) But also rediscovering things I love (like watching tons of TV and movies, designing new things instead of trying to create and photograph tutorials for other people, emailing friends instead of responding to blog comments, letting the blog be organic and not fueled by a schedule or anything). It's liberating and scary at the same time as I watch my traffic dwindle and I feel guilty for not "sharing the love" with my postings and comments.
But sometimes a break is mandatory - especially when you get so caught up in things it becomes stressful!
I hope you have a lovely New Year's and a relaxing break so you can regroup and figure things out!
xoxo
