What I'm Wearing
* NEW Paige Premium Denim "Debonair" 11" Jeans in Rebel Without A Cause Wash {mentioned here} ...jeans are so tricky to fit. I bought two pairs of jeans, both in a size 29 and these are a bit baggy on top and the True Religion are pretty much skin tight. I almost sent these back but grew to appreciate the extra room in the seat, hips and waist. I liked the way they looked and thought they would prove appropriately comfortable around the menstruation weeks. Final thought: I love them.
* Forever 21 rose pink blouse ...also seen here with pearls {two strands}
* Heritage 1981 gray long cardigan
* Vintage cognac thick corduroy blazer
* Sam Edelman cognac "Venice" Leather Peep-Toe Granny Boot ...scored these from Gilt ...but they're here -on sale ...they are so comfy they might just be my new favorite shoe.
* Vintage textured pearls ...these were my Grandma's, gold hoops, D&G gold watch, gold stacking rings
* Zac Posen bag from last year ...a Gilt Group purchase, of course
* Tom Ford sunnies
* Hair: slept in a very loose French braid and took it out in the morning. Ea-sy.
* Location: Beverly Hills residential

I woke up this morning 30 minutes before I wanted needed to so instead of trying to fall back to sleep, I laid {lay? lie?} in bed and thought about everything I was grateful for ...and I can't confirm or deny the fact that I had a really, really great day because of it. It also happens to be Spring Break which means about 50% less traffic in Los Angeles, and that alone dignifies arms raised in the air in praise. But I found myself laughing and giggling and just generally relaxed and smiling more all day long. So if all it takes is 30 minutes of gratitude {while stretching body in bed in the morning} then I'm totally in ...and seriously, why haven't I tried this sooner? ...oh yeah, I must enjoy misery ;)

Coloring Easter Eggs ...& Brown Eggs Too

coloring easter eggs -7

I randomly clicked on a picture of a pretty blue Easter egg with polka dots the other day that took me to this link at Home Life about coloring Easter eggs ...so I thought I'd give it a go and put my own spin on it.

Initially I thought stickers in different shapes would be genius but found that the blue painter's tape really worked the best at not letting dye under & peeling off easily afterwards {although the little stars worked quite nicely}. I just so happened to find neon food coloring dyes at the market and literally squealed with glee. For each color I mixed 3 cups of hot water, 2 tablespoons of white vinegar then just eye-balled the colors and dip-dyed until I liked the turnout. This was a first at dying brown eggs, which turn out a much richer tone than the white ones and I just love them!

If I had a little more patience I would have done a feather series as well ...so pretty, right? But the thought of cutting more tiny strips of tape was daunting, so I dare you to do it ;) I'm sure the ideas are endless!

What I'm Wearing
* Vintage yellow shantung cropped & beaded jacket ...came with this skirt
* American Apparel dark gray tank ...seen here in light gray
* DL1961 Premium Denim gray jeans {gilt/fuse.com} seen here and here
* Velvet Angels Naked Lunch Wedge Bootieshoes, wedges, wedge bootie, platforms, velvet angels, boots
* Salvatore Ferragamo bag
* Tom Ford Sunglasses

This is more of a "I-didn't-get-out-of-bed-until-after-7-and-had-to-leave-by-8:10" day kinda look. I had referred to this amazing little jacket in my previous post which then locked it in my brain for the following day. I guess it was a good thing though because I was short for time and just threw it on. If you want to know, but I'm sure don't care a bit, I did happen to make it to work on time ...well, 9:03 is close enough for me. To be fair, the traffic has been out of control and making getting to work on time in the mornings near impossible. So yeah, 9:03 was a miracle, if you ask me ;)

How is it Monday again, so soon?

A huge thank you to Jewelry Affaire Magazine for featuring my Tom Binns inspired DIY rhinestone necklace! It looks like they altered it a little bit, which I don't mind, but I still think my original looks better. The Spring issue showcases a hundred really great pieces as well as how to's and DIYs. *Photo overload today ...apologies, but I liked the colors so much.
Also, is it just me or does that tree look like a woman's lower half, upside down? I put the apple on her vag. ahahahha. Reminded me of Adam & Eve for some reason.

What I'm Wearing
* Vintage Ungaro Parallele Paris mint pouf shoulder peplum jacket ...seen here {oh how I miss my tan!}. I'm so in love with this little jacket, I want to wear it all the time. I find, however, that it doesn't work well with many ensembles. But I love it today.
* Vintage Levi's ...cuffed. I've really had these for so so long. I've altered them so many times throughout the years. At one point I cut the waist band off and because being mens, and, well, Levi's, you know they go up to my boobs ...and they are button-fly, so they stay up, no problem. I've ripped the seems at the bottoms making them longer and up the sides making them more flared {none of which is visible now because they are cuffed though} seen here with another jacket I try to wear all the time but don't.
* Sheer peach/toned long camisole from Victoria's Secret sleep section and with a light floral print which doesn't come across in the photos. Wearing a shorter silk camisole underneath ...seen here
* Velvet Angels Bottomline Platform Wedge or here at Endless for less but it looks like this color combo is sold out? Kinda LOVE the black ones as well though. They weren't an option way back when I bought mine.
* Gold hoops from Etsy, rings & D&G watch from Gilt Group
* Tom Ford "Yvette" sunglasses

Earth Hour March 27th 2010, 8:30 pm
Will you participate?

. . . we are.

earth hour 2010

Even if it seems as though many large corporations {and people who have stock in them} clearly don't care much about the planet we live on unless there is money to be made, we as individual people do. And maybe if enough of us take a stance and try to reverse the harm we've done to the earth, we can make a difference. I believe that.

So, on Saturday night at 8:30pm, the husband and I {and any friends who may be visiting} will turn off our lights and televisions and computers and participate in Earth Hour 2010 ...and maybe even go a little longer.

Last year after shutting everything down, we went outside and took a walk and tried to find others who agreed to darkness as well ...feeling like we're part of a global community trying to give a little back to the planet we take so much from, makes me a wee bit emotional. Will you do it too?

Click here to learn more about Earth Hour 2010 and Follow them on twitter for instant updates.
