All I want for Christmas . . .

...was a new computer. In fact, both the husband and I desperately needed new computers and agreed earlier in the year that we'd hold out until Christmas and splurge then ...and that's exactly what we did {he got this one & I got this one}. Yes, they're big ticket items, but what else are two people in their 30's with no children going to spend their money on?

To make things even more fun, neither of us stuck to the one gift rule and the husband surprised me with a Nikon D5000 Digital SLR CameraAND from my father in law, the Prime Nikkor Lens. And though I'm still learning all the camera settings, it is so rewarding to finally have an actual photo {well, digital image} as proof of what I see in my head. It's really an amazing thing! I can't believe I've been putting it off for so many years when it literally makes my life easier in so many ways ...not to mention more beautiful!

So obviously, below {and above} are a few photos I've taken since Christmas ...mostly of gifts & things but some just because. What's even more amazing about these photos is that I don't have Photoshop on the new computer yet which means that the photos were so awesome, I DIDN'T EVEN NEED PHOTOSHOP. *huge sigh* I know it seems lame but it's so exciting really. you have no. i.dea.




















When the rest of the family joined us on Christmas day the amount of white porcelain figurines and vases my mom & sister in law bestowed upon me were fit for a queen! {the French bulldog bank was a gift from Timmy & Becky & the kissing pugs, a gift from my cousin which you may have seen if you follow me on Twitter in my Twitpics}. And do you know what all these fun little trinkets mean?!? I can finally decorate our Ikea Expedit shelves/room divider & finish the living room. So exciting really.

Yes, it's a bit late for a Christmas post ...but I kept my word {almost} and took a much needed break from everything last week, including this blog. And what I thought {last Monday} was going to be a difficult task, by Friday the husband and I were talking about moving out of Los Angeles to a nice quiet small town where we could buy a house and not work at all. I think we got a little too comfortable doing very little at all ...but I think a life of vacation would be just the stress-free zone we're looking for, and quite refreshing really ;)
