Number one with a bullet, I'm a power pack

cropped pants with a white button down and black cardigan, nicholas kirkwood shoes, vintage scarf, ferragamo bag, long blonde hair, strawberry blonde hair, tom ford sunglasses, los angeles blogs, DSC_0050

What I'm Wearing
* Juicy Couture cropped gray pants {which make my legs appear shorter, not fun}
* J Crew man's white button down, stolen from the husband's closet
* Victoria's Secret black cardigan
* Vintage scarf was my grandma's
* White gold hoop earrings & stacking rings ...I'm leaning toward less jewelry lately, maybe it's a phase.
* Tom Ford cat eyes sunglasses
* Salvatore Ferragamo bag
* Nicolas Kirkwood platform pumps ...got em in Vegas

*Title: lyrics from ACDC "Back in Black"

The husband and I are still working on trying to figure out what the best camera settings are for achieving the perfect outfit shot. We have not mastered it as of yet *harumph* ...and needless to say, I'm looking forward to Springing forward soon for longer sunlit days!

Hope you had a wonderful weekend. It's unfortunate that the Jets lost yesterday to the Steelers ...mostly because I have no interest in watching the Super Bowl now {which will make for a better hostess come February 6 I suppose}. Cheers to another week. Oh Mondays ...harumphs all around!

* The above shots interspersed with my outfit are brought to you by the husband ...who practices taking photos while he waits for me to meet him at our "location". I like seeing what he sees through the lens because it's so different than what my eye gravitates towards. The two above are favorites so far. The slow children sign makes me giggle every time I see it. Obviously ;)

You should make an outfit app. I could type in one of your clothing pieces & see all the outfits I could make from it.

This statement does reveal the fact that I can't figure out how to dress myself. I have accepted that.....

I need those shoes! They should have a name...let's call them "Nina Simone." That's a sexy name in my head. And those shoes DESERVE their own names.

Umm hmmm. Yep I need a "Nina Simone" in my closet.

That is all. Bye friend! And hug Droll Girl for me! (Do yall hug in California? We hug in Texas. Hmph. Okay, maybe just say what's up to her on behalf of me. No. Hug her.)

Bye!

I don't think you need to worry too much about perfecting what you already do so well. I mean, the photos are wonderful and he seems to be able to catch that sexy smile and sparkle in your eyes very well. :)
Great outfit. Love it how the grey in shoes combined with grey trousers and adore the scarf. x

i love your blog, but i think the "slow children" joke is pretty inappropriate. i volunteer with best buddies international, a program aimed at educating people around the world about mental disabilities and pairing children and adults with mental disabilities in friendships with those who don't have them. it is insensitive to joke about a group of people who are not only extremely loving and capable individuals, but who endure needless ridicule for the sake of other people's enjoyment.

Those shoes are crazy cute. I could never walk in them tho. I'd probably need support just to stand in them. But they look lovely on you :)

I love that your smiling in that second shot. =^) You can tell your hubby that he can add that to his list of "good photographer qualities"... that he makes you smile.

I agree wholeheartedly with Hilary. What you said was inappropriate. That part aside, I really like your outfit and, as a diehard Jets fan, I'm devestated about our loss. I now have to deal with my best friend and her love for the Steelers. Obnoxious. Anyway, keep up the positive posts and as usual look fab.

Lots of love!

dude ...I'm confused about how what I said about the "SLOW Children" sign offended anyone. It's a real sign. Near a playground. I said it was funny because it OBVIOUSLY DOESN'T MEAN "SLOW CHILDREN" ...lol but it's still funny. Come on people. Sense of humor please.

Rachel said...

Wait....I'm missing something here. I thought the word "slow" when used on those signs meant "lessen speed". Why are we jumping to mental health assumptions?

Am I supposed to look out for mentally disabled deer now?

Kellie said...

I am drooling over those shoes. They are perfection.

I noticed that you changed camera settings before you even mentioned it. These images are so crisp! I love being able to see the details in your images, you always put so much thought into getting dressed! I love the whole look.

Kayla said...

Also, I completely agree. I thought the sign was funny to. I didn't even think about children with any mental issues, I was thinking about the fact that kids don't run slow.. ever. Not everything has to be so serious all of the time.

Love your hair! And those shoes!
