Almost Embarrassed by this Outfit

man repelling outfit, baggy pants, baggy blouse, baggy sweater, flat shoes, what could be worse, DSC_0354

What I'm Wearing
* Vintage pants ...seen here and pegged with my Hem Gems ...I never use them correctly, lol, but they are fantastically handy!
* Vintage leather belt
* Karen Zambos ivory blouse from GILT
* Victoria's Secret open cardigan ...I told you I bought almost every color. It's Fab!
* DIY Tassel earrings ...these are easy and everyone's done them ...I wrote about them here when I made them and wore them but let me know if you want a little DIY and I'll maybe do one this weekend. ALSO, getting back to Reader Request MIYs next week!
* Tom Ford cat eye sunglasses
* Cynthia Rowley burgundy bag ...Available at ShopBop
* Cynthia Vincent zip front sandals {love these} also from GILT -
* Hair: pulled up and back while wet in the morning ...I really couldn't be bothered.

I actually wore this last week ...last Thursday to be exact when I should have been wearing my Red Pumps, I instead had a brain fart, forgot about my red pumps completely and walked out of the house looking like this. Admittedly, I was very comfortable, which is what I was going for ...so much so that I really had to stop myself from wearing heels {my LAMB sandals, to be exact, which I've worn with the pants before} which honestly would have made it look 90% better. Now, it isn't bad per se but it isn't great on me. I think the key to looking great is wearing clothes that accentuate your goods and hide your flaws {because we all have flaws}. This outfit does neither ...and since I'm curvy, it just made me look and feel frumpy. Now, on a 20-something bean-pole, this would probably look adorable. I am neither of those things ;)

Also, I need a tan. Is it Summer yet?

I think the beauty of this look is that you aren't a bean pole, you are a real woman! You rock it!

Love this. I have some sheer back Trelise Cooper pants the same style as this, picked them up at a thrift store. Haven't been game enough to wear them yet but will try this look!
It would be frumpy without the sexy white top. Perfect!

Don't be too hard on yourself! I realized the tan issue with myself this week too... this winter has been soooo looong! for the first time in years I actually went to a solarium but there is still a long way to go!

If I looked half this fashionable when I left the house I'd be happy :) You've definitely inspired me for today!

I find it hard to style up my baggy pants. Being short and curvy doesn't help either they just look like baggy sweats :)I do love the blouse's flowy material and the open cutout detail.I think you look great and comfortable.

I actually love this outfit (which makes me wonder if I'm man repelling all the time and don't know it *side-eye*). I agree that the top makes up for all your "imagined" fruppiness. BTW, I'm your new stalker I mean follower LOL. Love this blog ;~)

what are you talking about?! i think you look flippin ADORABLE!!!

if any man is repelled by this then he is either fashionably challenged and gay OR just retarded. can i say that? ah well i just did.

I wondered where your red pumps were last week! :) I took photos in them, and then changed into more comfortable grey heels...my favorite. The work day didn't call for red pumps... I totally agree with that on that particular day.
Have a great weekend!

Maegan... I don't think you could ever be a man repeller even if you are following Leandra's rules.

Happy Friday!

Yeah, you still look awesome. And it's great if you can look super stylish and be comfy at the same time.

PS Thanks for commenting on my blog. I pretty much did a double take when I saw it, since I've been following yours for a while now! You are my fashion/hair/style help. Lord knows I need it!

You look great still, but heels are your signature, maybe that´s why you felt frumpy ;)

I just have to say every time I see the title of this post in my blog roll I giggle.

I know from experience that it sucks to be wearing (and posting) an outfit that you just don't feel 100% about, but luckily, you're still a stone cold fox, so there's that.

merci!

You would look gorgeous in anything, but I know what you mean, certain things are more flattering that others. You still look beautiful though! XOXO, www.NatalyasCloset.com

I think you look awesome and I love the blouse soooo so so so much. I know where you are coming from though - some days I wear outfits like this to work and while I FEEL amazingly comfortable I also know that it does nothing to improve my chances of finding a dashing rich boyfriend haha.

Ps. What was the hubby's thoughts on this outfit?! His comments always crack me up!

This is an amazing outfit! You look sexy and stylish and I would love to take a leaf out of your book (not wearing heels everyday)!

Thank you so much for only posting one picture of your entire outfit. (A lot of bloggers do this, which is the only reason I mention it.) The one picture you posted is everything I need to see your outfit! And it's lovely; I love the pants.

So, I never noticed it before - but your engagement ring is stunning!! Love this outfit - it doesn't look man-repelling to me, but what do I know lol?

I love this!! I don't know what the red pumps look like, but I'm smitten with the sandals that you paired with it - it gives the outfit an ease that higher heels would not.

And that bag... that bag! Such pretty details - the tassel is amazing!

You look great. Love those cat eye sunglasses.

I think the outfit looks cool; I'd wear it in a heartbeat. The flat sandals definitely make it more hip and downtown to me, more cutting edge than heels (altho I know you love your heels).

That bag is BUTTA.
