Switching my Mind back into Freak Mode

Black and white outfit with leopard shoes and ombre hair, nate dogg dead sad news, DSC_0168

What I'm Wearing
* Industry black tuxedo leggings with black studs up the sides ...I think I got these at Hautelook. Can't find a site/link for the designer though.
* Gold Hawk silk dress with pockets, belted
* Vintage black blazer ...my all-time favorite go-to jacket.
* Silver hoops and hearts earrings
* Tom Ford cat eyes
* Casedei peep toe leopard print stilettos

* Title: lyrics from Warren G & Nate Dogg "Regulate" ...such a great song and such sad news that Nate Dogg {Nathaniel D Hale} passed away yesterday at the young age of 41 to heart complications. REGULATORS, MOUNT UP!!!

A simple outfit ...the shoes made it really. In truth, I wore my black patent oxfords to work & to run errands in.

I'm trying to trick myself into believing that the Ombre hair trend is attractive when in fact, it just looks like I am in desperate need for some quality time with my stylist. I'd say it works a little because I keep the longest layer darker so at least there is some color mimicking from the top and bottom. Really, I'm just being ultra lazy ...secretly hoping my old stylist will return to the world of hair.

Girl, you are NOT the only one telling themselves that ombre hair lie. I'm considering actually asking my stylist to please run some darker color through my hair so I can go longer between colorings without feeling like the hair police are going to issue me a ticket. My husband calls it "recession hair."

i think you could totally pull off the ombre look. maybe a bit longer in the roots and a few more dark pieces pull through it. smokin'!

Kayla said...

I'm trying to convince myself ombre hair works too. I'm not really sure it's working but everyday I get up look in the mirror and say "it's okay you don't have time. It's trendy" Time to find time or break down and buy a box!

ohhh those leggings are awesome and I imagine they would be so easy to DIY! I love them paired with the blazer and all the black juxtaposed against the feminine top/tunic is perfection. Also, THANK YOU for making me feel less phony for taking photos in one pair of shoes while wearing a much more practical pair for the remainder of the day. Sometimes the right shoes to complete the outfit just don't work for an 8 hour work day. You are so REAL and I love your blog for it.

You are gorgeous and those shoes are amazing!

As for the ombre thing. It looks best when the lightening starts around the cheekbones. It highlights the face and looks much more intentional so you should consider darkening more at the top :0)
