My Office + Dressing Room : Elements & Details

leopard heels

That chest of drawers you see above used to be standard Ikea birch until about 2 weekends ago when I refinished them {there are 2!} and added those hilariously fabulous little lion’s head pullsto complete the transformation. Now …I’m in love.

Did I think my office/closet/dressing room makeover was going to take THIS long to finish? No I did not. Am I happy with where it’s at now? Yes I am . . . but it’s still not entirely finished. Many items have not found their permanent homes yet and art has not gone up on the walls either. I’ll show you a complete before and after next week when I hope to be finished but for now, here’s a sneak peak of all the girlie goodness that is bursting out of this room . . . and yes, it’s a photo overload today ;) Enjoy!

* These beauties began on one of my taller dressers, as seen in the first photo, but now they live on a stack of magazines . . . and THIS is why this room is taking forever. And yes, I am a perfectionist ;)

My SHUTUP print, appropriately by the telephone @drollgirlbabe

. . . and last but not least, my favorite little ShutUP print {taken with Instagram} perfectly placed by the phone.

Love the way you redid the Ikea dresser. I have been contemplating a similar project — can you dedicate a post to how you got this distressed effect, which paint, etc.?

I can’t wait see everything all put together. You have the best eye for anything design. How fun that you kept all those little items from new bloggers and the 4 generation photo is gorgeous. You look just like your mom. I wish my mom would have been well enough for a photo like this after Ellie was born.

I have those Ikea dressers, If you fill them with heavy items (like sweaters or my exorbitant number of tee-shirts) they kinda fall apart. Ive had mine for 2 years and its heading to the curb when I move at the end of the month.

So be careful! haha love the nicknacks

I left a comment earlier but my work computer sucks…I wish I could report the sucky computer but I am at work looking at blogs. LOL

Thank you for the safe keeping of my leopard shoes. I was wondering if they ere ok. You can keep them a little longer until early July.

I’ll need them to go with the white cocktail dress and J. Crew necklace that I’m wearing for a special event. (Hope you are reading in between the lines)

I’ll be sure to put tape on the bottom of them as to not scratch them:)

Just sat here and had an ‘ooooohhhhh’ moment. I sat staring at your dresser thinking how cool it was, then mentally trying to figure out what it would have looked like originally and then the penny dropped. I have that dresser, in beech but the wider version!! I’ve spent the last year thinking how it doesn’t go with my white dressing room furniture and that I want to get rid of it but feel guilty because there isn’t anything ‘wrong’ with it.

Looking forward to the before/afters and info on what paints and techniques you used. So I can be a copycat :o )

Those Ikea drawers are unrecognisable! Great work on turning one of Ikea’s LESS fabulous products into something so covetable!

I love the garland and hope to DIY, the personal touches you add are sublime! Mostly I had to comment because I LOVE the White Panton Chair.

I’ve always felt the silhouette of the Panton is like an elegant lady dressed in a full length white gown, sitting at her dresser putting on the finishing touches before heading to a ball, the train of her dress spilling out behind her. Suits you to a ‘T’!
