A few weeks ago while visiting my mom she told me she had come across an old folder of magazine tears that she had saved ...since the 70's. We'll get beyond the fact that she still had them 36 years later, in near-perfect condition, because we all save things, right? But in this particular case she knew I'd be interested and handed them right over. Thanks mom! I thought I'd share with you a few of my favorites.
Most are from Glamour Magazine, 1975 ...and notice, if you will, how many trends that have popped up in the last year or two that very closely resemble what you see here. Love that.

. . . right down to the rope tassel belt. . .

...the outfit on the left reminds me a bit of a recent outfit I wore here

... look familiar? ...maybe the idea behind "Frownies" ? ...

. . . what sags first, lol . . .

what always strikes me looking at older images of models is that I look like them! face and body! nowadays my 'type'- blue eyes, freckles, smaller fine features, structured bones- is sooo 'boring' and it's all about the olive and darker haired exotic beauties. sigh. i'm so out of fashion! :)))
They are amazing! And that one girl looks so much like the young Princess Diana, even 6 years before she came on stage ;-) But the "weather beaten" hairstyle? Oh please! That's not weather beaten, that's carefully coiffed, haha! :-D
Thanks for sharing!
Relatable Style
Thanks for sharing! I love it when past trends "poop" up again. ;)
If I had an elliptical, I'd tape that What Sags First spread to it as motivation/scare tactic. Ah, the aging process.
What an absolutely amazing find! Thanks for sharing!
They're a gold mine! I love things like that, I wish my mum had saved a few things.

The 70's were absolutely fabulous. I love everything that has to do with the 70's, even the makeup. (Maybe not so much the over arched eyebrows though, lol)
The clothes and shoes were so awesome back then, I wish my mom would have saved all of her stuff for me -sigh-
That's "popped up", not "pooped up"...he...he..
Or maybe they "pooped up" also.
I lived through this era and I remember the fashions as being very grungy & dirty. We useed to wear our Levi's so long they would drag and rip on the ground. Hair was unkept and frizzy and makeup not very polished. It was the hippie times. I personally think the '60's was the height of fashion.
I just love old things like this.

So inspirational! Loved the tassel belt, my mom keeps her seventeen's from way back then, it's both funny and great to hunt for ideas. Happy Sunday!

great,love it!!
Most of these models look so fresh, natural, and healthy (compared with many of the very thin models of today) (In my opinion, of course!)
"What Sags First"
*lol* !
Wow, what an amazing glimpse back in time :)
I think every lady should know what sags first lol

beauty/fashion spreads then seem much more accessible and real. pictures were much better too, no airbrush! funny it's refreshing to see something 30 years ago!
Ahh this is pretty awesome. Love the long floral skirts toward to top..hahah how funny the article on "Test what shape your in."

I love how they all look so natural compared to the typical photo shoots in today's magazines. Nowadays everything has to be so dramatic and I think they often overdo it, in a way...
I was born in 1986, but i love the 70´s! Hair-style, make-up, fashion, everything inspires me so much. I always wanted to have such a beautiful hair like Farrah Fawcett.
And the models look so pretty and healthy. No photoshop, everything´s so natural.
What sags first?!? oh, those 70's...amazing
those are gorgeous!
obsessed! the triangle-tape idea is hysterical! /im eyeing some scotch tape on my desk right now...
