"Go the Fuck to Sleep" read by Samuel L. Jackson

go-the-fuck-to-sleep

I've been hearing about this book for a few days now ...perhaps because it's buzzing & I'm on the internet 24/7, but when I first saw it & read about it I thought, "IS this appropriate for kids?" Being that I don't have any kids, I don't have any first hand experience and therefore, no expert on the subject. So who cares?

But when I stumbled upon it again, tonight, narrated by Samuel L. Jackson, I had to give it a listen.

And let me tell you ...it was my first really great laugh in 3 days. and I needed it

So maybe it's not for the kiddos. Maybe it's for the adults of said kiddos? ...but regardless who it's for, Jackson's rendition of it is pretty. f*cking. hilarious.

1:52, 2:11, 2:33, 2:51, 3:43 & 5:24 are my particular favorites

Haha that was brilliant!

I read about this in news some time ago but Samuel L Jackson doing an audio for it is just amazing :)

So funny...definitely not suitable for kids!

Good Gawd - a friend sent me an e-mail of this a few weeks ago because she knows we have been having issues getting the Boyz in the Hood to sleep for coming up on a FUCKING YEAR NOW. Scarlett goes to bed like a charm, but the other two knuckleheads? Not so much. When The Hubs and I read this we were DYING, I tell you. I will have to go back and watch the Samuel L. Jackson version, because I am sure it will be superfly T.N.T., if you catch my Pulp Fictiony reference.

This damn book was DEFINITELY written by a survivor.

mwah!

HILARIOUS! I know my parents felt this way because I would always try to sneak into their rooms because I was too scared to sleep by myself. Now I realize how truly annoying that would be!

i read this book a few weeks and was snorting (quite literally) with laughter. it's hilarious and since then i've passed it on to some moms, for their own entertainment.

Ah...all the things you WISH you could say to your kid. I remember those days. And not with fondness. This book is a crack up.

I love this book! I told a friend of mine that the next time they can't sleep to call me and I'd read it to them in my best Samuel L. Jackson voice! :P For anyone with kids, although it's just a joke, we all know kids pop out of bed when you least expect them to. lol

I finally listened to it last night. It couldn't be more perfect for parents. I laughed numerous times throughout. The book is great, but Samuel L. Jackson is THE SHIT.

There is no better narrator for this than Samuel L. Of course, I'm still thinking about him reading it on a plane full of snakes...
