Plaid Pigeon {as far as I know} was the originator of the adorable idea behind plastic toys turned succulent planters. My pink giraffe and hippo above are both Plaid Pigeon creations and I adore them. But it seems they've gone out of business which is trés sad because their idea was genius! No need to fret! Just the other day I found this little animal planter tutorial at The Thrillz of Hillz so now you can make your own!
My original succulent Penelope, my pink hippo, died... but it was super easy to replace it with a new succulent, using the dirt the little plants are planted in.

This is a fantastic idea, I love it. I have so many toys that my son never uses. I can now put them to some good use.
