If you've been reading my blog for a while now, you know that I'm a bit of a gamer, and my husband defines the word. I don't play, or even like, most of the games he plays. And since I don't have too much free time on my hands any longer, I don't really play games unless they're going to enhance my life in some way, which is why I'm super excited about "Deepak Chopra's Leela."
Other than when I'm asleep, I don't spend much time relaxing. I try to stretch before bed every night but not in an introspective and quiet way, I do so while watching TV, so the idea of a game that forces me to focus, breathe, and practice awareness really grabbed my attention. Using the Kinect for Xbox 360 without clumsy controllers just makes it all the more appealing.

When you turn on the game, you hear the soothing voice of Deepak Chopra, guiding you through the steps with soft background music that resembles the game "Flower" a little. It's immediately relaxing, and I found myself inhaling deeper than moments before. I felt the tension and rigidity in my body loosen before gameplay had even begun.
First, you create your personal Mandala, which means "circle" and becomes your avatar for the game. There are two main parts of the game: "Play" is active and "Reflect" is introspective/meditative. Under play, there are 7 different movements that align with your Chakras, the way of understanding the way energy flows inside of you, and each movement has 7 levels that, when unlocked, move you forward to the next movement. From the base of your spine to the crown of your head, the levels correspond with Chakras, aligning mind and body to the spirit of the universe.

Beginning with Origin, gameplay forces you to slowly move your hips back and forth to tilt and rotate the planet towards the rain or sun to plant seeds and grow trees and grass. The second movement, "Life" focuses on the chakra just below your belly button and pelvis and is fertility-based. By twisting your hips one way and the other, you move and connect seeds to pods to nests creating what resembles sperm and eggs. With my difficulties getting pregnant, I particularly like this movement and hope it will bring a sort of calm to my uterus and a fertile breeding ground for babies. But if nothing else, there is a sense of meaningfulness while playing, and it is 100% relaxing with an element of playfulness and fun.

I'm currently still on the "Life" movement, breathing and twisting and rocking myself into a calm awareness that is surprisingly peaceful. I'm excited to continue playing every day for at least 30 minutes to just center myself because it has done wonders so far. I have felt more balanced and focused since beginning to use it. Deepak Chopra said he thought games like Leela could "accelerate neural development and biological evolution," {source} and I kind of love the sound of that.
Though I played with the Xbox 360, Leela is also available on Wii and BlogHer is giving one away along with the game Leela from THQ!

Dude, this looks awesome! I would love to play and have this "game". Dealing with chakras makes me very happy!
what an awesome "game"! would love to try it out (and not sneezing at a chance to win it, nosiree!)
I would love love love to give this a try!
this would be a nice change from the dizzying marios, karts, and whatnots.
I would love to win this game! My boyfriend loves video games to relax, I on the other hand, usually enjoy reading, a bath, or yoga to help me relieve stress. Thanks for the contest!
What an interesting game. I would love to try something like this out.
Looks very zen! pick me pick me ;)
I love yoga! I just got into it a year or two ago but it's amazing how it calms and empowers me at the same time.
Love yoga especially Ashtanga!
You find the coolest, most fun tech toys! Color me green with envy, or maybe just a shade (if I win?!?) hehehe...
I had no idea Deepak Chopra had a game ou!! so cool!! I think its time I get an xbox!!

Trying to find some soothing exercises... especially things that will help in the delivery room in a little over a month!
My first thought was that I would love to share this game with my mother who is going through difficult times health-wise.
I'm totally wanting this for Christmas!! Right now I do yoga and I love it, but I definitely have the most trouble with the breathing! All the other real serious "Yogis" breathe on a whole other dimension - maybe this will help me to get their "yogi" level!
I live yoga, not bikram as much but any other kind!
WOW! What an awesome place you have here! SO much to see! I have perused many of your posts and enjoyed getting to know you a bit.
Exciting giveaway! Thank you for stopping by my place and leaving your comment!
Kindly, Lorraine
wow amazing giveaway. would love to try!
Yoga, definitely! Though I recently moved, so I need to find another class. Maybe I'll win this, and can use Leela for relaxing!
This looks pretty cool! A game I'd actually want to play! Guess my husband will finally get that Kinect unit that he's been whining about!
I practice yoga three to four times a week, without it I'm a wreck. :)
This game looks amazing and thanks for your blog it's always full of great ideas!
I'd love to give this a try!
I take time for myself in the morning. This is time I don't talk to anyone but turn my thoughts inward.

Super cool - I find peace by praying, usually best achieved during my morning shower.
When I'm really stressed, I do 20 minutes of a mixture of yoga and pilates, and then either hang out with my fiance or play with my pets. It makes me feel more connected to myself and the things/people I love.
Nice .. I would def. try this out ♥
Would freaking love to win it!!!!!

Sounds perfect. I have RLS and arthritis and have such trouble relaxing and getting to sleep at night. This is a must have. Thank you for this, I had no idea " grown up" games like this were available.
I find balance and peace by making daily time to do the things I love. Taking a zumba class or reading a book, or just watching an episode of a TV show that make me laugh until my sides hurt.
I hope I win!
I tried to copy and paste it to Twitter, but the link was to long, but id love to win it. So please oh' please pick me:)).
Awesome...I'd love to win!
I write in my gratitude journal every day and that brings me inner peace.

Love me some Deepak...
I find peace by working really hard during the week and then fully relaxing on weekends. Keeps me balanced!
I tweeted about the giveaway, too!

I relax throughout the day by meditating for a moment when I get stressed. I put a relaxing song on and for the full duration of the song I focus only on slowly breathing in and out.
I'd definitely like to try out the Leela game too!
Deep breathing really helps me refocus and de-stress during the day. I would love to see how the Leela program teaches me new breathing techniques!
I think this is a amazing concept. Sleep is a big stress reliever for me. When I don't have enough of it, life is definitely more stressful.

I find peace by writing. I do a lot of journaling and I write a lot of fiction. If it wasn't for writing I have no idea how I would make it.
I find peace and balance by not scheduling anything on Sunday and just enjoying the day and by taking evening walks :)

I tried to find balance and peace by setting "me" time for myself each day, even just 10 to 15 minutes. It's a good way to unwind, plan for the future...or just day dream about the next vacation. :)

wow, looks like a great game and I'd like to win it :)
Whoa, this would be a really awesome thing to add to my yoga practice.

This sounds absolutely wonderful! I recently just discovered your blog and have become obsessed! :)
This sounds like such a great experience. I need more balance in my busy life and would love to try this out.
Yoga helps me relax.
Balance and peace?...uh yeah, that can definitely be difficult to achieve in this crazy fast-paced stressed-out world! :)
I came to terms with the fact that, for the most part, this IS the pace of life. Life won't "calm down" or become "less busy"...so we have to make time, schedule and plan for balance and peace. Tho I get stressed just like everyone else, this realization helps me choose the activities that compliment me and my lifestyle. I've been a long-time practicer of Bikram yoga and an avid runner. Generally I seek activities based in breathing and channeled focus. And time with my girlfriends, a good book or sitting on the beach almost always do the trick. :)
This is a fantastic prize you are giving away, btw! I would be honored...
I like to run. I find it clears my mind and helps me to relax.
I tweeted about your contest!
I LOVE your blog Maegan! &&& I LOVE anything by Deepak Chopra!!! I am so surprised by what new ideas and products are out there...who would have thought that there would be a WII game for meditation?!?! I am definitely in need of something to help me relax and reflect about my chaotic life...I would be FOREVER grateful to win this prize pack and start changing my weekly routine to add some "me" time! Thanks for the chance to implement something tangible into my life to help me remember to de-stress and breathe!!
I could use all the peace & tranquility I can get in my life. I would love to win this :-)

What a neat concept! Normally I align chakras in yoga class, and then it all goes out the window the next day at work, once I'm all stressed out again ;) I'd love to reinforce this on a more regular basis!
Unfortunately, I often find that I don't balance peace and stress all that well! I let the craziness and negativity of work seep into too much of my life...I'm working on it. I find that taking my dog for long walks, or curling up on the couch with a craft project really helps calm me down. My fiance always does a great job of putting things in perspective. He's pretty no-nonsense, and he helps keep the crazy stress at bay!
Thanks for the giveaway!

Every night before bed the H and I just have a quiet moment to actually just talk and relax without being busy cooking dinner or cleaning or anything. It's really nice :)
I have a great husband, and he allows me to have my own time and space. He takes the boys out sometimes for the entire day and I find a lot of solace working in the peace of my garden during that time.

Well we really dont have much PEACE as far as “peace and quiet” because
life has been constant crazy for years for our family with 6 kids always running for sports and family events. I have learned after becoming ill to pass on perfection and not stress out about having everything JUST SO. My balance is also found with the whisper of little prayers every day…it just seems to ground me. Lately the calm and balance seems like it should be rattled even MORE, with a new live in grand daughter depleting our sleep, but really, cuddling and rocking a tiny angel puts everything in perspective. It takes you out of the rat race and makes you just sit down and see the world with new wonder.
thank you for hosting and clearing up some of my questions about the meaning of the "game".

To destress and relax I do yoga, talk to my hubby, have some ice cream.
Take a big breathe, and I ask myself if there is anything my stressing will do to benefit the situation? I grab my bike and head out to the lake and bike the trails, it lets me clear my head... just some quiet time for myself.
