Zig Zag French Braid Hair Tutorial

 french braid updo with flower

I randomly created this fun snake french braid {or zig zag french braid} the other day and though I haven't seen it before, it doesn't mean it doesn't already exist somewhere with an entirely different name. But obviously, I had to share it with you. It's easy but difficult, if that makes sense. The one I wore the other day was on day dirty hair and was much looser. I've included a few of those photos here as well just to compare the two. I can't tell which version I like better though I'm leaning towards the looser/messier one for a daily look. However, if I was planning on wearing the style for a fancy event, I'd go with the tighter version. Enjoy!

I actually wear my hair like this to work but I finish it off at the bottom right side of my neck and wear it as a lazy side pony tail. Gets many compliments.

When asked how I make it, I never know how to explain it because it really started with me just playing with braids. I'm glad you've done a tutorial so I can share!

Lovely!

Just give me your hair, I'll dye it dark brown, and call it a day. Thank you very much in advance.

have you ever read a blog for a long time and then that blogger puts up a video, and it totally smashes the "image" you had of the way they talk or move?

i've been reading for at least a couple years, but this was actually the first video of you i've ever watched...you are JUST as lovely and cute and personable in video as i imagined.♥

and yeah, me too: i wish i had that much hair (and upper arm strength!) and just love your blog.

Thanks for the video Maegan! This is a great braid for long hair, love you you sweep back the front section to cover the side.

Hey Maegan! I love your tutorials! Like you, I have lots of thick hair, but mine is curly/wavy --depending on the day. I therefore have a higher frizz component than it seems you do. Any suggestions for how to tackle french braids (such as the tutorial above) when there's frizz involved?
