Dressing up for the Holidays ~ Wearing Vintage Karl Lagerfeld

red vintage Karl Lagerfeld dress- black tights and heels-bun

What I'm Wearing
* Vintage Karl Lagerfeld red dress
* Ben Amun earrings
* My own DIY clutch bag
* Vintage sunglasses
* Cynthia Rowley black tights
* Jean-Michel Cazabat black suede shoes... I love that these black tights and black shoes are almost seamless when worn together it's a real leg lengthener.

* Hair: big bun with ribbon. I had a reader {Thanks Natalie} request a tutorial for this style and though I usually just do one without any practice, I wanted to make sure to get it right first. If you'd like a hair tutorial for it, just let me know ;)

* But first... Check out my 5 minute holiday hair at Life Well Lived.

I found this amazing Karl Lagerfeld vintage silk dress at a thrift shop ages ago, I mean, like forever, and have never had a chance to wear it... and in this vibrant red, it's kind of the perfect holiday dress. The dolman sleeves make me think it's from the 70's but it could be late 60's as well. I wish I knew for sure. I'm usually really good at pinpointing vintage eras but for some reason, I just can't tell with this one. Maybe it's the classic design? It's made so well that after all of these years, it is in perfect condition... though I have had it properly stored for the last 10 or more. It's oddly enough, ridiculously difficult to photograph and though I tried to fix the color in editing, it's still not exactly right. It's perfectly RED -not the slightest pink or orange- and it's really fun to wear!

I would guess late 60's/early 70's. It reminds me of the wardrobe from Coal Miner's Daughter. So classically chic! LOVES!

How do you properly store vintage? This caught my eye and I KNOW I don't know how to do this.
