Dressing Up in my Dressing Room

maegan's fedora - hat-fedora - straight hair-mirror-camera

What I'm Wearing
* Vintage 70's animal print dress {most similarly to a giraffe print but I could be off} & included tie belt from Etsy shop Jantiques. She has some great vintage finds for really reasonable prices! I also got my halloween "Betty Draper" dress from her.
* Hat: is by THE AMAZING Spring Canyon Hats. They custom made it to my style specifications and then I got to name it! -> You can buy it here: ...love Maegan "Barracuda Fedora" {w/free shipping}. I'm supremely in love with it! {note: it's a charcoal gray with a hint of green}
* Guillaume Hinfray suede boots... seen here with jeans
* Marc Jacobs bag

* Hair: I've been asked on occasion what my natural hair is like and this is it. Here it's air-dried and while it does have body, it's very straight. Whenever it's wavy or curly, I've used something to make it that way.

* Wearing absolutely no makeup, like an idiot... not even lip gloss.

Just for something different I thought I'd change up my outfit posts, take it indoors and add a new series: Dressing up in my Dressing Room. Here's why: my dressing room is a fun backdrop and while I see it all day every day because I work in here too, YOU never get to see it. And I thought you might like to. Also, it may inspire me to keep it clean on the regular instead of piling clothes up on my pink studded ottoman... which you can't see for that exact reason.

This particular impromptu dress-up spawned from a heinous day {yesterday} working on a project that seemed never-ending... I was supposed to be ready for dinner when the husband returned home, which I was... but this isn't what I wore. I had a little fun playing dress-up first.

I bought this dress before Halloween and not only have I not worn it, I never even tried it on. So I grabbed it out of my closet to see how it fit and then just pulled the outfit together... a sort of modern 70's look with a hint of western, no? Maybe it's just the way I'm standing in the shot below that makes me feel like a cowboy, lol.

truly obsessed with all things in these photos. The backdrop with the nail polish, mags, and shoes are super cute and the outfit is to die for. You look like you're getting ready to go shopping in France or somewhere fabulous.

Yay to showing us more of your dressing room / office / woman cave! I live in a 4 story rowhouse, and my bedroom / closet is on the top floor while my woman cave / office is on the bottom floor. Wish I could combine them and have one huge girly dressing room space.

I've been playing dress up in my closet alot lately too. It's embarassing, but there are so many things I forget that I have or have hardly worn. A good reminder to shop our own closets and remix what we have!

OMG! I love your dressing room! Do you think you can give us a "tour" of it? I would love some inspiration for one. Question: What is that blue bag on top of a stack of magazines behind the black pumps? Everything is so lovely! <3

That is a beautiful dress! I have a similar print skirt that I love and I actually got for $3 at the thrift store. I was confused by the print too..giraffe? flower? I went with giraffe like you :-) Regardless, love the print and it's versatility. You look great in it!! Oh and the hat is a nice touch!
