What I'm Wearing
* DIY embellished collar blouse
* Vintage Neiman Marcus sweater... thrifted.
* Khaki cropped pants by Poleci.
* I recently found the first ring my husband gave me before he was my husband, from Tiffany's. I sort of retired it once he gave me my engagement ring and wedding band, but I love its simplicity worn with my other pink emerald & diamond ring, a gift for our 5 year wedding anniversary.
* Ivory oxfords.
* R.J. Graziano Double Disc Drop Earrings from GILT
* Huge pearl and crystal ball necklace {found at a garage sale for $10 ;} worn as a bracelet along with two narrow bangles from Forever 21.
* Tom Ford cat eyes... I so need new sunglasses but I'm still not over my cat eyes!
* Marc Jacobs handbag, which I'm not using as much as I'd like to be using, considering the amount I paid for it. I originally thought it was light enough to use for a Spring bag however, it's a bit heavy for Spring and think it would be more of a Fall bag.
* Title: lyrics from Madonna ~ Into the Groove... a fantastic live performance by Madonna from the Virgin Tour. I love that Madonna actually sang {most} of her live performances rather than lip synching them. I mean, she's running around that stage! I can't stop watching it really.
I woke up at around 3:45am last night, and Desperately Seeking Susan was on... which of course I watched, for the millionth time. And of course I couldn't fall asleep until it was over. But it made me realize just how much we have accepted 80's fashion back into our lives after years and years and YEARS of laughing at it. It has now completely infiltrated mainstream fashion and style and I wonder if we'll look back in ten years from now and say "What was I thinking" like we did in the 90's looking back or if it has just become a new classic era, like the 50's or 60's or even 70's. Wearing any of those styles, including pre-50's looks, if not too costumey, are completely and totally acceptable. And not only acceptable, but stylish in so many ways. Almost every outfit worn in Desperately Seeking Susan, save the hairstyles {and even those weren't that outlandish anymore among young 20-somethings}, could be styled more modernly and worn today. It made me smile, that's all ;)

I love this outfit! It's such a fun mix, and I'm so jealous that you were able to thrift that cool NM sweater! You're so right about '80s fashion - I think it's a goldmine for inspiration.

You're probably one of the only people on earth that would be able to pull off this outfit, haha.
As always, you look fabulous.
you look gorgeous!
That collar steals my heart every time!!
Ooooohhhh-kay! Your accessories blow my mind! Love them! I can't pick a favorite (okay I can- your pink emerald); not just in the post, but in every single one of your outfit posts! You're gorgeous!
I love your earrings.. fantastic!
you are looking beautiful!
i especially love your BAUBLES!
and i have never seen desperately seeking susan. i think it was outlawed in my loony house when i was a kid.
omg i love that movie. now, where's my aqua net to recreate her hair?
this is such a great outfit!
YOU ARE SO ADORABLE! I love the last image, it is certainly no outtake.
I love this entire look because it's a bit of a departure from what you normally wear. I love seeing you in flats, and oxfords no less. A girl after my own heart! I love me some oxfords, wish they would replace the tired old ballet flat actually.
love love love it!
