You can't win em all, right? I love the colors. I love the idea {inspired by this mani}... I even tried out my new nail art tools... but oh it turned out horrible. It wasn't so much that I couldn't follow the line of the inner nail, it was more that I couldn't keep the neon yellow off of my skin. So a template OVER wouldn't work but rather a template around maybe? I think the key is to paint the neon first... THEN, using some template that covers the edges only, paint the gray over the neon. OR possibly by using a nail polish paint pen.
Needless to say, it's gotten better over the past few days and I'm still wearing it as I type this. I can't say I hate it, but it's not my best work, lol.
* two coats RGB Gray nail color
* two coats neon Magical yellow nail polish
* Essie "good to go" top coat
* Nail art tools
* I simply painted a thin line all the way around each nail... again, for possibly better alternatives, read the paragraph above.

I definitely haven't seen a manicure like this yet, but I like it, especially the color combo! It looks pretty good to me, but if you have problems with the polish getting on your skin, get a nail polish remover pen. I've been through several and you don't have to be nearly as precise with your polish when you have one to touch up with afterwards.

Try using tape around your nails. I do that for water-marbling and it works pretty great.
