Like seed bead jewelry and friendship bracelets, I wore an anklet for much of the late 80's and through the mid 90's. Sometimes made from either handmade seed beads or friendship bracelets but also sometimes from leather or shells or even ethnic bells, and occasionally, a simple and delicate gold or silver chain. Sometimes worn tightly and sometimes loose and hanging low, I thought ankle bracelets added a little dose of femininity to the ankle, and even had a sweeping vine tattooed around my own. Then somewhere through the years, as trends faded and lower back tattoos were unfortunately renamed "tramp stamps", anklets too lost their luster and became less associated with the fashionable crowd. But lately I've seen them popping up on blogger's ankles internet-wide and though it could be for various reasons, I'm betting it has something to do with one trend-setting Olsen twin who was spotted wearing double ankle chains last Summer.
I still find them pretty though and to bring a certain femininity and even sexiness to the ankle, especially in the Summer months when shoes bear more bare feet than in winter... I'm thinking I may have to try one on for size.

I Love Anklets and toe rings too! Only problem is that they are much harder to find!

definitely have to say that I love Ashley's..it's simple, glam and very modern..doesn't look like they used to..which could be very tacky!
The "love" anklet is so pretty and dainty. I haven't worn an anklet in years but I do kinda miss it now that you reminded me.
I would definitely wear an anklet. The sad thing is I forget how much I like them until someone else is wearing one. I may have to make one for myself.
I, too, have been seeing these pop up and wondering before that when anklets would make a come-back...
I'm not sure how I feel about it, just yet... Part of me is 'meh' and the other part knows I will dive in sooner than later.
HA!!! i JUST posted a pic of me wearing the old school jelly bracelets as an ankle bracelet in my throwback thursday post!!! seeing these dainty gold ones may just have convinced me it's back and i NEED one! =)

I totally agree, I've been thinking about ankle bracelets for the last few months! I might start rocking one as well!

I've been wanting an anklet for a few months now. I really like the feminine feel of a delicate anklet, and now I am to find one, lol

i LOVE that this trend has resurfaced! So chic! http://www.natalyascloset.com/
Only if I had a pair of matching to wear one on each ankle.... Otherwise anklets and toe rings are a no go for me...
I do love them all but ESPECIALLY the double anklet look - def be trying that one w/ my nude heels

When I was in NY two weeks ago, I saw pretty anklets all over the place. Let's get LA wearing anklets again!!!
I too have spotted more anklets around this summer and their return is very welcome! I'm a big fan of your DIY projects Maegan so hope you don't mind me sharing one of mine - a DIY 'love' charm anklet http://wp.me/p2aIdD-10T.
One does not have the proper sense of wearing an anklet, the taste has to wear even in the eating. Nice comments.
