July 4th Outfit Inspiration ~ Chic Nautical w/ Red, White, & Blue, Obviously

What I'm Wearing
* Burberry double breasted short trench coat
* White twill pants/jeans c/o Jigsaw London
* C&C California striped tank
* Vintage red, white, & blue necklace was my grandma's
* Red leather zipper pouch/clutch DIY ~ gift from Four Flights of Fancy
* DVF round sunglasses
* Charles Jourdan white/snakeskin sandals

I thought I'd go chic rather than campy for my fourth of July look... which really only means wearing neutral shoes rather than my bright patent red ones that would have screamed THIS IS MY FOURTH OF JULY OUTFIT! So it's subtle without really being subtle, if that makes sense. My grandma wore this necklace with the matching earrings every fourth of July celebration I can remember... she had a festive but chic red, white, & blue shorts and blouse outfit complete with large rimmed sunglasses and a cigarette in her mouth. Oh how I miss smoking... being rather warm now, the trench is perfect for an evening event on the beach or boat when the sun goes down and the chill sets in. Oh how I love Summer... and now that I'm done with my book I can begin to enjoy it a little. Where will you be on the 4th?

Happy Monday!

Cute outfit! I'm hunting high and low for a perfect trench coat (that's within my budget!) but have come away empty handed so far. Love this!

You pull off chic flawlessly. I swear, you're one of the only bloggers I know to pull off classic America without looking dated or stuffy. LOVE LOVE LOVE.

I LOVE the trenchcoat!

Sorry, but a trench coat and jeans for the 4th?
Even if it was chilly, I think that a nautical navy sweater would be more appropriate.

your outfit is FABULOUS!!!

i wore a red, white and blue dress on the 4th. it sounds awful, but it was pretty cute. a little SHORT (and i kept tugging on it!), but pretty cute. lol

So pretty! I can't believe it was cool enough in LA to wear pants and a trench on the 4th!
