What I "was" Wearing...
* Striped long sleeve T by izod* Victoria's Secret slouchy open cardigan
* J Brand ~Duarte lace up black "Suffragette" jeans {also seen here}
* Husband's black on black Raiders hat
* Kenneth Cole watch
* Leather fold-over pouch/clutch... a DIY from Andrea
* Topshop oxford lace-ups {similar here... these blue suede lace ups are ADORABLE}
As I was going through old photos on my hard drive the other day, I found this outfit from 2011 that I had never posted. I'm not sure why I didn't, probably because the photos were dark, the outfit was nothing special and I had other outfits to share at the moment. But what intrigued me about it now was how little clothing I was actually wearing in it verses how much I'd be wearing now, in our new winter wonderland. These photos were taken on January 11, 2011 and if I wore this thin t-shirt and cardigan over my shoulders now, January 2013, I'd be shivering before I even stepped foot outside.
As I type this now, sitting at my desk, I'm wearing jeans with two pairs of socks, a t-shirt layered under a thermal, a sweater, and a HUGE cardigan over the entire outfit. And I'm INSIDE. I'd layer on a hat, scarf, gloves, a coat and boots just to walk out to my car.
Of course I'm not complaining either way, just noting the difference, but Los Angeles does get colder than you might think, you're just never prepared for it.

i was just commenting on another blog about trends/looks i've never tried. and it's official. i have never worn oxfords. i love them on everyone else but i'm pretty sure i would look like i was taking an adult tap class...puttin on the ritz...shuffle ball chain. that's a pretty hot tap move right there. =)
