Loving Revlon ColorBurst™ Lip Butters... Review + Giveaway

I was recently sent these 3 Revlon ColorBurst™ Lip Butters to review and asked to reveal a few of my beauty secrets as well, but before I had a chance, my mom came up for a visit, spied them sitting on my desk, and excitedly said I LOVE THOSE LIPSTICKS! I USE TWO OF THEM TOGETHER AND WEAR THEM EVERYDAY!

 

So I thought I'd start by giving you an honest opinion of someone {my mom} who is genuinely enthusiastic about this product, bought it on her own and stands by its awesomeness. And due to the nature of this blog and my eagerness to share my beauty secrets in general, I don't have many beauty "secret weapons" hiding up my sleeve that I haven't already shared with you. But now that I am living in a wildly different, dry, and very seasonal location, the more moisture I can add to my beauty regimen, the better. AND, I cannot WAIT for spring to arrive so I can peel off these layers, add some bright florals and start showing a little more skin again! I'm constantly covered up these days, but what does that have to do with lipstick?

 

Well, nothing at all, except that these aren't really lipsticks; they're better, and my lips will be wearing them starting now, into spring and probably throughout summer as well.

You know I'm more of a gloss gal than an everyday lipstick wearer, right? I mean, I love the occasional BRIGHT lip for some added drama, but mostly I just end up with it on my cheek, which is in fact, the exact opposite of chic! And do you know what's great about Revlon ColorBurst™ Lip Butter? It's more like a stain than a lipstick but feels like a smooth and buttery balm that hydrates my lips at the same time, which I love, love, LOVE.

 

Though there are 20 different shades to choose from, the three Revlon ColorBurst™ Lip Butters I've tried here are 050 "Berry Smoothie", 035 "Candy Apple", and 025 "Peach Parfait". Berry Smoothie is my favorite for my skin tone and it actually somehow makes my pout appear larger, which is a total bonus! Maybe it's the shiny color or the softness, or the application? But I really love this for everyday wear. The scent and flavor are a huge part of acceptance or dismissal of lip products and this is sort of fruity, like mango and coconut butter on my lips, which is pleasant and not waxy at all. It's really like butter. And occasionally, when I'm completely free of makeup and just need some moisture on my lips, this balmy stain adds enough color to give my entire face a pick-me-up. It reminds me of when I was young and I'd see my mom wearing lipstick without any other makeup and ask, "Why only lipstick, mom?" And she would reply, "Because sometimes, that's all you need".
